What determines a check swing?

Sometimes I barely tap the button and get a check swing and sometimes a full swing. It's very inconsistent. Is there something other than input that determines this . Like opponents input quality , some attribute ?
It's frustrating.
I wouldn't mind as much if I get a check swing and the ump says I swung because those are 50/50 but the full swing doesn't make sense . -
I've never tried to rely upon check swinging. I have found that the difference in time between my decision to press the swing button and the swing is so short as to make no practical difference if I changed my mind. I think the issue here is the practical limits of game controllers and the amount of time between full swing and check swing is so small that it doesn't realistically adhere to the physical dynamics of a finger button press.

@PriorFir4383355_XBL I don't know man , the amount of pressure I put on the button should not make a full swing , maybe the pitchers attribute causes it ? Idk , but no way I put full swing pressure or timing on it .

Button press and discipline. And remember 60OVR was what SDS said in their streams in past games is average so less then that is tough.
