Fathers Day swing and a miss
-
Of all the weekends to have a sizable content drop or to do double XP you would think it would be on Father's Day weekend. But every year there's never anything significant or exciting. It's the one weekend of the year Dad's get to play a little extra and SDS completely misses the boat.
-
We've had like 3 double xps in the last month. They're not gonna do it every weekend.
-
They had what I thought was a cool program last year that everyone hated. In fact, its probably the reason the programs are complete garbage this year.
The actual problem was the cards themselves were 'bad' (translation: not 99s). So people didn't like grinding for what they perceived as collection fodder.
I'm actually spending more time with a fresh account on 2023 than I am on 2024 because the program content was by an extremely large margin better in 2023.

@Easy_Duhz_it__MLBTS I know, that's why I prefaced THIS weekend. Got more time

Well....there are plenty of fathers im sure that have time to play consistently and not just on Fathers Day weekend...
-
They usually have a Father’s Day program, not sure why they don’t.
-
Cavan Biggio just got traded irl, but his Kaiju card in last year's Father's Day Program was so good that he was my WC for awhile last year. I wish we had something similar in '24.
All we got was a Conquest map this year, where every stronghold is the Padres, and them only. That's lazy and weak, but I'm not shocked as this game has taken a hard fall from grace.
-
its bad , lets throw a bunch of trash cards at them , and just when they get them developed and producing , we're gonna pul the carpet out from under them and make them start all over

It's sad. I miss that Niko Goodrum 42 Series card. I can't even use him with the Devers boost. It's a crying shame.
-
bro.. we got a conquest map with 18 matchups vs the Padres. what more could we want?!
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS was it last year or year before i can't remember they had a father day program with Ken Griffey Sr and Jr that i liked. Thry could of done a reboot of that program would of been cool with me.
Side note, what happened with releasing Captains with said programs like they did previous years? Wonder why they got rid of that Idea
-
Memories.....
Jesus wept. At least Kaiju had a program tied to it with those uber scary monsters.
Bring back a couple of the Kaiju cards like you did the Incognitos, SDS

They really do seem to have given up....nothing cool at all... kinda baffled....a few programs here and there...throw us a bone
-
Poor Waldron. Getting repeatedly beaten in conquest and losing to mets in real life
-
He gave up 2 runs and got only 1 run of support, sad because he's pitching well lately
-
Imagine that your real-life team plays the Pods this weekend as well 🤪

I'm choosing to believe, however misguided that belief is, that the reason this year is so lacklustre is that they're putting for the the effort for the first release on currentl gen only next year...which might include a new engine, animations, physics etc.

As of February, there are
138 millions Switches
117 million PS4s
86 million Xbox 360s
54 million PS5s
28 million Xbox X/SsNot gonna happen. No way you write off 330 million potential consumers in favor of 80 for a niche game. Sure, there's some overlap in console ownership, but the point still stands.
The game is lackluster because of the SIE layoffs, I think.
-
I agree that their not going to go to next Gen only, madden is still for ps4 and Xbox with no signs of dropping them. I think it's still the whole thing of people not being able to afford next Gen consoles
-
It’s not that they can’t afford them. It’s that the value provided by upgrading isn’t worth the cost for most consumers. The game plays better and looks better but coupled with the lack of games available for new consoles most people choose not to upgrade.
