On second thought, I am probably going with Mays for my first WC. His swing is not great, but he is my best all around card. Clutch HRs, acrobatic catches in OF, excellent speed, etc.... he does everything well. I am glad we finally got a good Mays card to use for much of the year. The previous Mays card that I liked was a LS collection, and I did not earn him until late in the game cycle. My goal is to get Ruth in a couple of weeks, and have him and Mays bat 3-4 to start Season 2.
I just unlocked Mays, definitely will be my Wildcard choice! Even though im not the best with his swing, he's one of my favorites of all time irl. My father bought me his 1956 Topps Baseball card when i maybe 10 years old and been a fan since.

Rollins is my 1st wild card then maybe Wood for my 2nd when I unlock it

My issue with wildcards is they don’t count towards team affinity progress in the next season… if they did I would use wild cards more

I think it depends on what they make available right away and what the four new free Captains do (2 can be selected of the 4).
Looking at LS and CORE cards right now.
Adley or Posada
SS: Rollins (I can move Mookie to LF)
SP: 99 Paige
SP: 99 (Arrieta/Sabathia/Pettite)My gut feeling is that those unusable captain cards like Prior are going to be valuable in S2.

Rollins will not leave my lineup unless I don't have a choice. Switch between Paige and Wood. (I like Satchel more, but not for TA) Then probably Mays, Escobar, or Logan O'Hoppe.

Was there confirmation on S1 captains being able to boost in a wildcard slot? I can't see why not.....
