Defensive Positioning
-
Has anyone noticed that for years now, if you’ve had runners on the corners with two outs while pitching that the game doesn’t let you have your first baseman play off the bag as if no one is on base? I was recently in this situation as the away team with a tie game in extra innings, and it was just a little frustrating since there wasn’t really any point in trying to hold on the runner who was on first and since his run was meaningless. I pitched out of trouble, but it would be nice to be able to have the first baseman play under a normal alignment so that he can cover the holes better.

Manually change it.
-
To manually change it go into gameplay settings & click on GAMEPLAY. And under the General/Decisions tab turn auto defensive shift to OFF.
-
I did that way back in 2021 though. And today I went into defensive positioning on the pause menu to select first baseman, normal depth, and then one batter for the duration. But that still had him holding on the runner.

I noticed this or something like this in the last two or three versions of the game. Manually changing did not move the first baseman as you have indicated. Very annoying. Submitted bug reports and everything.
