Have you sat back with your friends who play this game and sit and just name off guys from the past you would love to play with?
We did this in my office many times and can go on for hours just naming guys. Lou Whitaker, Chris Sabo,Jose Rijo,Carlos Baerga,Cecil Fielder,Jack Mcdowell
Julio Franco, I mean you can literally go on and on. Why is we get tons of minor league guys and 7 different versions of Paul Konerko and Joey Votto lol

I know its money related I am sure the minor league guys are free, but don't they make enough money to get me Bo Jackson or Manny Ramirez?

Also why do guys appear in one year and not others? Kenny Lofton, Ichiro, Elsbury, Coco Crisp?

Aw, you had to name him.

Kenny Lofton is an early-cycle Show GOAT. I miss him.

Bo and Manny have to say yes. It's as simple as that.

So if you are saying any player who is in the Hall of Fame can be in the game that is even worse on their end lol
Joe Dimaggio Bob Lemon,Hack Wilson,Carl Yastrzemski, Gaylord Perry , Phil Niekro, .

And if not in the hall of fame they just need to say yes? Hard to believe 10,000 players said no lol
I mean 2k had Craig Ehlo, and Roy Hudson one year lol Baseball should be the same

I'm sure Sabo and Rijo can't be that much. That is 2 guys closer to completing my favorite team of all time. 1990 Reds. Waiting to see a Paul O'Neil Reds card this year.

Nasty boys!!!!!! No way they are that much, baseball has such a history and this game has so much unrealized potential. Was just curious what the reason really was? We just just keep this thread going and just name players all year long. Here I will go again.

@BigBadBosc44 NBA2K tends to get full teams from a certain season for teams so it's easier to get a lot of former players into 2K although some (like Charles Barkley) will turn them down I'd imagine a 12th man on a good team will jump at the chance to make easy money allowing their likeness to be in the game knowing ain't no player going to use them.

I don't know about that. When Weaver was in a couple years ago, he seemed genuinely surprised on Twitter. Not sure if the players actually hold the rights to their likeness or if it's the MLBPA.

Wild to think John Franco and Kent Tekulve was in that bullpen the year before. Believe Franco went to Mets straight up for Myers.

Danny Jackson and Armstrong were also solid for those Reds

Reds HOFer Tom Browning rounded out the 90 rotation. Billy Hatcher was a beast in the WS. Buy getting all the 90s Reds would be too big an ask. So I'm good with just Sabo and Rijo being added next.

I’ll never forget that incredible play Hrbek made in the WS on that bad throw where he fielded in on a short hop while on his belly lying fully prone diagonal to the base with a toenail somehow still hooked to the base. To be such a big man he wasn’t at all scared to drop into the splits to reach that throw

We used to have Perry and Niekro in the game!

That bronze knuckleballer caused forums to explode...

It's funny how some of the best cards are prospects, and many of the legend cards are not competitive to use at all.

It's funny how we're still only a month into the game and if they dropped usable legend cards now, everybody would spend the rest of the year b*tching "What is there left to play for now that all the good cards have already been released?"
