I think that's exactly what it is, I think Season 1 is their guinea pig to see what we'll let them get away with as far as ripping us off, what we'll tolerate and what we won't.
I think this might be true as well. Streamers, social media, and the forums are all roasting the direction of DD and the game as a whole. They have ears and eyes. But they also have game data and sales data. Tomorrow will indeed be a big day, potentially make-or-break, for this cycle. You can only squeeze your customers so much after releasing a broken game and refusing to apologize.

The tribalism on these forums is ridiculous. Anytime anyone brings up a valid negative point on the game the same 5 guys or so come to SDS’s defense. If you don’t like what they have to say then ignore it or move on. You don’t need to jump in like the avengers to save the day for SDS.
This fanboy and hater mentality is really not helpful at all. At the end of the day it is all just a matter of opinion. Just because your opinion may be the majority opinion doesn't mean it becomes an objective fact.
This is an open forum. If you post a topic about disliking something then there is a good chance that someone will disagree. But, the reverse is also true. You can't post on an open forum like this and expect it to just be an echo chamber, where everyone falls in line with your opinion and everyone who does not just stays quiet.

@TrainerMatt21 I can't say for stubs, but there's never been (or has been years) repeatable XP in missions (maps, MS, Showdown). That was probably a slip-up that they corrected.

TBF I think the frustration with the crowd is more to do with SDS complete and utter tone-deafness and out of touch they've become with how they're doling out content et al.
Personally I'm still going to play because I enjoy it, once you start playing for playing and not JUST for the rewards

12 or more TA cards are always useless. So, no. But to play devil's advocate, having useless TA cards this year is more impactful -- stubs are being gatekept, xp is nerfed, and the base is being funneled towards pack-only players.
See now: that's a balanced, legitimate critique. I expect to be straw-manned and lumped with "the community," but I just thought I'd underscore how I'm partially agreeing with you, even though you love to straw man people who critique the game.

Let me clarify -- I did not mean I was done with the game -- I believe I said in another post that I was going to play find whatever fun I can have and see if they fixed it. I would give them til NCAA comes out and if game is still like this then good chance I would be gone or at least do the bare minimum.
What I am done with is making posts complaining about game or at least as many might here and there but I am tired of complaining and seeing fanboys defend this garbage. Then I get annoyed by a fan boy and go into "keyboard warrior " mode ( my bad on that ) something I should NOT do. Fanboys are allowed to have a wrong opinions and if it makes them feel better then whatever. I do want to apologize to Yoshi and anyone else I kind of went at cause if you want to have your head in the sand then go for it. I mean if you want this game to turn into a pack opening sim then to each there own -- I do not and I think others agree with me on this one.
SDS gratz on making a game that is dividing your community and making us in fight more then the normal stuff that happens on these type of forums.

@TubaTim90 but are varying lineups happening? It’s the buxton team or a team affinity team variant. I hardly run into any cards that came from the packs.

Yep. The whole lineup diversity thing is bs and a cop out that isn’t even true. The fact people can’t make any stubs to even buy the packs kills lineup diversity. But these supporters simply refuse to acknowledge that point. Ignorance is bliss.

In 5 RS games yesterday, I never faced the same pitcher twice. Each line-up was vastly different.
People can't afford EVERY pack, and maybe that's intended. Pick one that you like and go all in.
You must not have been around when Corey Kluber was every pitcher every game. Everyone used Chipper and the same everyone else. You probably don't even actually play the game modes are just blindly bashing lol

If you think all these unaffordable packs and limiting stubs is the answer I have a bridge to sell you in New York. I remember Kluber and Degrom very well. Maybe the hardcore competitive guys hated that but if you are just playing casually having tons of affordable, fun, cards is great. That’s why so many of us loved 21 because it was fun using the cards we enjoyed.

I don’t own 24. Main reasons are bringing Seasons back. Seasons are cool with me in MUT… why? Because the cards I earn in that season don’t become useless when the season ends. I’ve been very vocal about this since last year so probably no surprise to anyone. If I do buy 24, it will be on-sale and in Season 3 so I don’t have cards being restricted. Seasons are 100% a money grab and it’s a lazy way to cover up their inability to structure a good power creep without being too extreme one way or the other.
Another reason is this is the same game as last year. I own a PS5. I want to play PS5 quality games. Im done paying full price for PS4 games. They didn’t show anything that made me think they weren’t completely selling this year. They didn’t even have big names for Legends. They are keeping all of their profits and not putting any of it back into the quality of the product. That’s not a company I want to support.
I actually like that they put the best cards in packs this year. Lineup diversity. It’s been a problem for years because they gave out top tier cards to everyone so everyone had the same team. There’s some positivity for you.
Why do I come on here occasionally and post on a game I don’t own? Because I loved DD in 17. It was the most fun I’ve ever had playing a game since I was in middle school. So I voice my opinion because it sucks seeing SDS destroy something I loved. They used to have great communication and I actually was probably one of the fanboys back in 17. But every year they have gotten stingier, almost zero communication, and now they are even cutting playable content. It just sucks to see.
