NCAA will surely kill the game just like Super Mega Baseball 4 did last year.
And its a weird threat, by implying everyone would move to an EA game it implies were actually deep down ok with even worse models.
The way to get SDS to change isn't through childish threats they know are nonsense.
And we don't even know if SDS is the one we should be complaining too. Usually its the publishers that are the issue and not the devs.

They’re going to push the 10’s of vocal opponents on this forum to keep playing and complaining is all. The reason we have 40k packs is because it’s working. Thousands upon thousands of players have no problem dropping money on stubs for these packs. This forum is simply an echo chamber for your discontent, so it appears everyone agrees with you.
The hilarious aspect of these complaints is they want SDS to operate in a way that they, themselves, wouldn't.
How many of them turn down a pay raise? Or a discount on something purchased?
Do I wish they'd strike a better balance between the old mlb and this new version? Absolutely. Mainly I wish there were more earnable cards that were sellable and that you could earn the stubs needed simply by playing the game. The reality is they would not be acting ad they are if it was not producing the results they want as a business.
Go ask your boss to take less revenue or status quo revenue and see how that pans out.
-
You do know that have back end metrics, right? And they can measure customer engagement more accurately than a random message boarder?
-
@BJDUBBYAH There smart. push the 94 and 95 overall so people can build their squads. I just want content to grind like all of us. The game has been boring.
-
It’s gonna be great to see everyone that posts about the game being “trash” complete TA2 in less than the weekend, then complain about the 30 free cards being trash, and how there’s no content.
I literally can’t wait.

NCAA won't kill 90% of the player base, I am fully against what they are doing and not happy but will still play but I'll let them know with my wallet, I normally add 200 t0 300 extra via stubs in a year and I'll just pass this year. That is all you can do besides stop playing and that is unlikely for most because this is the best baseball out there

Exactly. I normally would have spent way more money as well.
-
@BJDUBBYAH where did I say anything about packs? So maybe simply reading what is written and not trying to read between nonexistent lines is actually a challenge for you. While 40k packs are part of the problem.... there is nothing to do. No programs, no new conquest maps, Miniseasons has been ruined. Online play is nothing but very late and very early bloop hits. It's a dung show but you guys can keep on brown nosing.

This is the rational approach and the only one that can ever produce change.
-
@CHOMBONDO in your opinion, it’s a dung show. That you just keep playing.

@CHOMBONDO
Haha, just wait until the NCAA drops, and you can buy more NIL money to improve your recruiting or your online team. Pay 50 dollars for 5 million in NIL money to offer to recruits, and pay 30 for a pack that may include Bo Jackson, but you will likely end up with Jason White "Heisman" card

Every year people predict that something is going to drive all the players away and every year they are wrong. Its an MLB The Show tradition!
To be fair, since there is no content in The Show and NBA 2K24 was free on Sony Pass I tried it for a bit.
Man do I hate the controls for that game, and how terrible the 2K servers are. I didn't last long.
But NBA doesn't have the same draw to me as MLB anyway. -

underrated post.

@BJDUBBYAH lol dude actually thinks everyone plays 3 hours a day like him.
-
@BJDUBBYAH you really like riding and white knighting SDS, don't you?

Now that's a game that really feels like pay to win. Trying to play online with a NMS team felt impossible. Didn't help that I just wasn't very good either. Some of the offline stuff in MyTeam was fun though.
-
I only play the game to make fun of other kids to show them how dumb they are.
Oh Marky Mark.

This is the problem with focusing completely on data/metrics. There is a story in there that the data alone does not tell. I am a huge fan of data-based decisions, but SDS takes the data and says, "oh, this isn't working." Then they just throw stuff at the wall to try and get what they want, spinning it by saying "we listen to you guys". If they took the data and then did a deep analysis of what is causing those outcomes, they could find something better to throw out there that would benefit everyone.
Everyone is focused on money, money, money, packs, packs, packs, but the problem is not completely the abundance of packs, but the lack of value. There is nothing in the game this year that provides value. There is no value in the cards that come in packs, there is no value in the cards that come from completing programs (online or offline), and there is no value in spending time in the game. They have created a game without value and data alone is not going to help them fix that.

@Honor_The_Game44
Finally a great response that doesn’t involve the white knights arguing with people complaining about the game. Metrics and money tell the short term story but completely bypass the long term damage of driving away a fan base will have in future game installments. The game feels and plays empty, bottom line.
