this game isn't pay to win
-
@Justillien its one thing to voice frustrations, its another to constantly complain and whie, if you dislike the product dont buy it, its people like you that berrade the game all year, say " im done with this game for good", then buy the game next year and sit around complain on a community forum that has been in the past meant to be a good place for helpful insight, now its just people demanding and making unreasonable statements.

A lot of lying/underselling of hours played in this thread…

The Show is not pay to win, it never has been. It's pay to have a better team, but not pay to win. Having a better team doesn't mean u magically know how to hit and pitch to win.. Smh

This community has gotten so annoying with the constant " i deserve this or i deserve that" MLB 21 did a number on this community, we got almost everything in 21 for doing little amounts of work. I'm not saying all good cards should be in packs but honestly all good cards shouldn't be free either. IN 21 Verlander, Degrom, Ryan etc, were all free and that game became unbearble to play seeing the same pitcher over and over again. As for the pay to win part, Any casual player can spend loads of money on this game and still be a barely above 500 player. Stop with the madden and 2k comparisons becuase as someone who plays both of those games, this game is nothing like those at all, were getting 30 free diamonds in TA Chapter 2 next week, patience people, you cant say you want a power creep and then complain you can't get instant good cards thats not how it works. As for the C0-Op glitch, keep it in the game, might encourage more people to try it out, I for one have never played co-op but it sounds interesting using actual 99's. I'm not trying to tell anyone how to feel but this cycle of constant whining a month into every year of MLB the Show has got to stop, this forum has turned into a complete crying line, or calling for devs to be fired over mistakes. My goodness people relax.
You don't think its a bit ridiculous that basically all new cards so far have been locked behind a 40k paywall that you have a chance of actually pulling the high rated card you want instead of maybe a program of some sort where you actually have to put in some sort of effort to get a decent player?? nevermind the fact that this game has had many major glaring issues freeze offs being the main one for YEARS without fixes?? the fact that we are sitting here defending a multi-million dollar company when they have so many silly and stupid issues like this is beyond me. nevermind the fact the biggest one yet everyone gets their account fkn wiped? it'd be one thing if they responded quickly and or mentioned anything about it other than one dev recommending a "fix" that the community figured out before they even realized it was a problem? now eight hours later we get a tweet sds is aware its all fine and dandy its not especially people like me that has been playing this game for years expecting a decent product and having to deal with bugs like games disconnecting for no reason the stupid p2p desyncs or whatever you wanna call that bs when the game lags and the play is cooked on the field last year its the two way player glitches every year its something new not even mentioning the all the other little things that will never get fixed like pitches counts not being accurately represented on rtts after getting on base which i have personally noticed has been in this fkn game for YEARS and drives me insane. can't stand ppl defending this company and trying to make people look stupid or "impatient" or "crying" for voicing their frustrations with this game. it wouldn't be so bad if there was any other option but sadly there's not the show owns this market and I don't that will ever change. This game might not be "P2W" but its definitely not play to win or have any sort of enjoyment past maybe pulling mike trout out of a pack which is what got me hooked in the first place those were better times im headed back to ps3 mlb2k11 anyone wanna hop on with me?
Every new card behind a paywall? Did you see the free 91 crochet? What about the 91 yelich, with the 90 smoltz, mccovey, and candelario? There have been just as many new cards free as there are packed cards.
I agree, the issues with freeze offs and account wiping are unacceptable and it’s pathetic those things aren’t fixed yet, but in terms of content alone, there’s nothing wrong with how they’re doing it.
Why is everyone acting like 30k stubs is a kings ransom? Stubs are kind of hard to come by, but 30k is not a lot. I don’t put any money into the game, play a below average amount of time, and 30k to me is easily earnable in a few hours worth of playing, flipping some cards, and so on. If you play regularly and don’t want to spend your stubs on packs, what do you spend your stubs on? I’m sure you have done all programs and reward paths for online play, you should have a team full of free good cards, maybe with some LS diamonds in the mix, where are all your stubs?! If they made every card in the game free to acquire, all you would have to spend stubs on is finishing LS. If you don’t like spending stubs on packs and just buy the players for it, it would cost a little over 1mil. I know with all the sellable cards you get from online rewards, gameplay stubs earned, and stubs from programs 2 weeks in, you should be very close to 1mil stubs earned. If everyone has LS collections done within the first month of the game being out, people will have literally NOTHING to do with the stubs they earn. I say this bc I experienced this last year. I finished live series very early bc I pulled trout and ohtani, and once I finished that, I had nothing to spend my stubs on and ended up just ripping a bundle or choice packs every time I got enough stubs just for the heII of it. having some cards only in packs is a GOOD thing and allows much more variance in lineups.

The game is not pay to win, at least in my definition of the term, but that does not change the fact that the steered hard into the monetization of the game.
Expensive packs are introduced every week. it seems like all of the cards earned freely from programs are No Sell which greatly hinders the average user's ability to accumulate stubs to buy these packs or purchase the players (who are better than their corresponding program rewards).
@Nauracy34
To answer your questions. I don't flip cards as that is not enjoyable for me. I don't play online so those rewards don't help me. All the program rewards are flagged as No Sell. I have something like 23 season 1 cards and 18 of them are no sell. I don't buy packs because I don't want to gamble with the stubs I do have. I am reliant on offline Stub rewards and pack luck. -
@chucky97___ thats not what i said but we get outlier on the first card you pick in the game nowadays so whats the difference? this game has had a major fall from grace and for the record I haven't ever used this forum and have never needed to find this forum because there has never been an issue like this it isn't constant whining its being fed up for years and having no other option I have every right to be upset with a game I shelled out for thats having this major of issue not to mention all the other ones that have been going on for years is insane everythings not fine and dandy over here gango
-
@Justillien Theres issues every single year with every single game on the market, no games are perfect.
-
@chucky97___ how am i supposed to not buy the product if i already bought the product and it doesn't work? seems like me and a few others are the only ones being reasonable on this forum but keep farming rep crowdie and defending a multi million dollar company for no reason. best part is you're probably playing right now lmfao at least you have fkn access to the items you paid for
-
@chucky97___ how about a game breaking bug in which you are forced to forfeit a win or soft lock your console for an indeterminate amount of hours in order to win a game you already won and then imagine that bug being in the game for, again folks, YEARS but we're just supposed to let them slide because "no games are perfect" again no one is asking for perfect but how about a genuine working [censored] product as opposed to whatever this horseshit is sds has lost its way and so have you my [censored]

I’m sorry but they do need to reward players differently that play every mode in DD, play on higher difficulties, and play more competitively.

@Justillien I'm at work right now, it's one thing to be unpleased but continue to whine does nothing, want them to fix the game? Don't buy it next year, as goes for more who feel the same as you, if you keep buying the game year in and year out you're not doing yourself a favor. At the end of the day its a video game who cares.
-
@Justillien SDS been pumping out the same game since 17. It hasn't lost its way at all.
-
@chucky97___ it seems like you do buddy you're the guy with 300 posts about a virtual game and defending the company while you're at your fkn job bro nobodys whining [censored] pipe down and get back to work goofy
-
@chucky97___ thats cap and you know it bro lmfao

Yeah, good points. However, they do fix some things very quickly:
- Fix the deleted accounts on all systems.
- Fix the crashing on all systems.
- Add more content (offline grinders are a large portion of the game base).
- Increase options for more repeatable XP rewards... Only getting 600xp points for a three inning mini-seasons game is too low. They should allow us to >earn< repeatable xp rewards again in mini-seasons and Conquest.
- Changing the 15k xp 18 hour/daily cap to a weekly cap of around 150k, at least. A large portion of the game base have work/school schedules that prevent them from playing every day.
There are many other things they need to address as well, but these are the top five imo.

It's not pay to win, hell I'd lose to anyone with any card. But this year there are more "pay to play with the guys you want to use" than in previous editions early on with limited ways to earn packs and stubs. But I also think things are stale so we'll find anything to complain about.
-
@Justillien How so? I was never a fan of 21, 22 was aight, 23 was awesome but everyone hated it, 20 imo had it all but thats also covid bias, 19 and 20 Cards were actually being sold for a million due to you actually had to earn the card not just a ranked program or br card, 18 immortals were awful, 17 The programs required an insane amount of grinding also just late be great, 16 was awesome because no one really cared. So please enlighten me how it's cap?
-
@Justillien can't come up with anything to contribute so you resort to insults, I'm just passing my time while grading lol, I've been logging onto this forum every year, this place used be a great place.

@xElRojo44x weekly cap makes more sense. Or even just raise the dailey cap, i think the intention is there, but the execution is still off.
