This year's version of the Show

Yeah the it’s awesome… the power creep is the way to go!! And I like the 12wk seasons along with the XP cap… keeps me from grind everything and being burned out in 2 months
-
I agree, allows for better balance with regular life and work.

I love the gameplay but the huge grinds for time-locked cards makes no sense. I would have to no-life this game to get a season 1 choice pack and then I would I would only get to use the card for a week before the season expires. Same goes for getting a boss at 1,000,000 XP. Getting a boss at a 1,000,000 XP should feel awesome but it will feel terrible only getting to use it for a week. I understand there are wildcards but there aren't enough wildcards for all the cards you grinded for. I get they want to give that new-game feeling with a season reset but it doesn't work. It will feel like you grinded your [censored] off for 11 weeks to use a card for one week before you start the grind all over again. And most people simply won't have the time to get the bosses or the collections rewards let alone those who get them and can only use them for a short while before they're time-locked. We've had years with the show where folks loved the content progression. Time-locking cards is ruining an otherwise awesome experience.

I hate it and enjoy it at the same time. I understand SDS's approach, but I do not like the xp cap and overall low attributes of most special cards.
Last yr I only used 1 LS card. Trout and Ohtani. None mattered due to all the 99's being so much better.
This yr I've used more and the super charged cards are actually fun. Guess that's what they were hoping to see ppl use more. Make the LS a little more relevant than in previous yrs.

Really enjoying the use of live series……the team captains when you do a theme team really give a good boost to help make them even more viable at this point.
-
I've always preferred a power creep progression so it's been good so far. The question I have is whether it'll stay that way 3 more times this year. I have doubts because we're being limited in terms of xp, so getting to the end rewards on the path a week before having to ditch all s1 cards would not be fun.

@craigerrzz 100% in agreement. Last year by this time the LS cards were like TWENTY PAGES OVER on the market. Goofy af.
With my maxed out Arenado boost and IE some guys might never leave my lineup. Alvarez and Seager look like Finest Series cards with stats pretty much +110 everywhere.
-
@mattsky1593 They are actually usable!
-
Well, I mean, enjoy while it lasts, because for almost all of them, that is ending on the 12th.
-
@Shenk-O
I don't mind the power creep, but think the xp cap needs to go up a little.
-
I could see where that would be a problem, especially on a weekend when your playing a lot.

Agree with the OP. 24 is the best show gameplay wise since 17. graphics, gameplay, and control they've done a great job with in 24.
