Daily XP limit

My guess is that the XP cap is in place to thwart any exploits someone might find early on. You know the story, someone finds an exploit, posts a how-to vid on youtube, people abuse it, forum freaks out, "ban 'em all" posts, same thing every year. They'll remove it once they can be reasonably certain the code can't be exploited - until it's exploited again and the cap will be back.
-
I got to thinking about this more and it's now been a thing for 3 games this might be the forth but either way it is now a part of the game. This being the case SDS needed ( needs ) to put in a way for it to be tracked by the players so WE know when were getting close to hitting the cap. IF your not going to put in a method for us to know then how legal or heck take out legalities out of it but how right is it and how fair is it to the players who bought the game.
I can understand putting it in for a short time to combat players who have found bugs you guys missed to cheese the game but why make us suffer ( lack of better word ) cause you guys cannot do your job right in finding the bugs. Now maybe it's not all your fault maybe this is on the corporate level maybe they have done something that makes it harder on you guys but still the players are being hurt by this and it has to stop. -

Honestly I think capping daily XP in general is a rather slimy move to begin with. Who honestly cares about how quick someone motors through the program? I don't. That's like buying a car and the dealership saying "yeah you can only drive 175 miles a day and then the engine shuts off and wont start again until the next day"
Sure they have top end rewards...but it doesnt exactly make them world beaters if they can't use them correctly. They shot the grinders in the femoral artery by lowering the cap of daily xp, but then they also punished the guys who can't grind, and only play an hour or two every day or every other day but cutting the XP rewards in half. Now I can get behind one thing, or the other...but not both. -
They have to do this because there are so many people who figure out ways to cheat. I played a ton yesterday and eventually got a warning that I had hit the max. I have no problem with that because it was a sign to give it a rest.
-
It's not like any of the rewards, other than packs, in the XP Path are sellable. Let people play how they want to play.
-
so SDS wants to be like a parent to us ?? I m a grown man who can decide how much I want to play and not play and I am willing ( might not like ) a reasonable XP cap when the XP we got was decent now it's not compared to how much XP we need. I realize there might be some give and take from the community but it seems like they are just taking without much giving unless headaches count.
-
If they are just trying to prevent cheaters, why is the limit so low that you can hit it by playing without cheating in 3-4 hours? That doesn’t even add up.
-
I’d like to thank everybody who commented on this topic so far. I thought I got some weird error code but you guys all summed it up for me pretty well. This is the first time ever that I’ve gotten an XP cap. Which I’ll say is good and bad for all the reasons you all described. I can’t grind like other people bc I work a very odd work schedule that fights my other responsibilities before gaming. So for me it sucks there is a cap, but I guess that means today was the first time I was able to sit down and play for a while which is the case.
-
I think a big problem is that SDS needs to explain what the cap is.
It doesn't seem to impact everyone the same, so how do we know it isn't some rolling type of cap?Is anyone under, say, 200K total exp hitting it now?

Its probably aimed at slowing down the top 5-10% as well. Which has its pros and cons.
But even without the track experience there is still pxp, progression on other programs, and grinding packs. So its not like they can't progress. -
@Teak2112 The unintended (probably) consequence is handcuffing people who can’t play everyday and really setting them even further behind. Some people get a day or 2 a week where they can play for hours and now they get about 3-4 hours before they hit the cap and have to wait. That’s an awful restriction for people who are already at a disadvantage.
-
Honestly, the easiest solution to this is to make the XP cap cumulative as opposed to daily. So, fine, they want a 15K XP daily cap (or whatever it is). Instead of capping it at 15K per day, just make the total XP cap go up by 15K each day. So, the total (not daily) XP cap would be like 150K right now since this is the 10th day of release. Then, those that can only play a day or two a week can still keep up.
-
I'd like to know what you all are playing that makes you hit the cap.
I played, on and off, yesterday for about 7 hrs. No mind you that wasn't 7 CONSECUTIVE hours. I took breaks here and there.
Anyway, I did 10 Showdowns, about 5-6 Conquest games, and 2-3 9 Inning Play vs CPU games. And I didn't hit any kind of cap.
Not saying that there isn't a cap. But unless your farming XP by playing at a created stadium with high altitude and low outfield walls; how else would you earn enough XP to hit a cap?
I hear about people scoring 70+ runs on 70+ hits in a 9inn cpu game; but never heard them complain about hitting a cap.

Do you know that the capping mechanic isn't cumulative, or are you just speculating because someone told you there is a daily cap?
So far the people I have seen capped are people that are well ahead of the total exp curve, and not the people who only play 1-2 days a week. I havent seen any of the weekend only people with under 100K xp total getting hit with a cap
I could be wrong, but we need to share our experiences if SDS wont tell us the details.
My personal experience is I play daily and play a lot and have yet to run into any cap, but I play only on all star in MLB stadiums. Still, I'd suspect Im in the top 25% or so of total program experience (pitching captain was unlocked yesterday for reference) and have yet to see a cap. I'm not denying there is a capping mechanic, we know there is one. We just don't know what it is.

How do we know this isnt the case? Just because one guy on reddit with an insane amount of total exp already was capped at 15K, doesnt mean that the person who hasnt played in 3 days and is at 75K exp is.

@Teak2112 you’re right, I don’t know! Good point.
For the first time in my life I got capped this year, but that was like the 2nd day of release, so it’s very possible it was a cumulative cap as opposed to daily cap since it was so early in the season.
