Daily XP limit

Listen, I understand the point is to make sure folks can't unlock the 99ovr immediately but the daily xp limit is going to ruin the game for me. I don't have more than one day a week that I can play consistently. I will never be able to unlock anything at all or progress programs because of this. Almost makes me not want to play which sucks cause I enjoy the game. But without that sense of working towards something then it just becomes repetitive.
-
It would be nice if it was a rolling limit. Like, not going over a total XP amount by certain dates. Then, it wouldn't affect those who have limited days they can play, and it would help keep the crawl they're shooting for.
-
Honestly, I'm more cheesed that they nerfed XP payouts themselves...instead of 180 for an inning pitched in RTTS its 91 now. Looks like I won't be achieving ANY of the decent rewards this year, as I don't have all day every day to grind.
-
@Sarge1387 I actually think that is the right way to slow people down from finishing the xp path super early. That’s way more reasonable than putting a cap on people.
-
For those of us that put in over 65+ hours of work per week (WORK work, not gaming work), we'll probably never hit the full end-of-season numbers.
I personally think it's just fine for where it is. If people are earning that much XP a day (and/or more) they're easily treating the game more like a job than just an hour or two hobby like many of us.
-
ya the XP nerf was harsh specially since you need over a million JUST to reach the wheel
I was on the fence in buying this years version cause at least for me I did not like having an avg of 8 weeks ( give or take ) for a season. I play other games like WoW and such so I felt like I had to LIVE in this game to play it before but when I read that blog and saw seasons were 12 weeks I was like this is better. Then like the day of early access they talk about how XP has been changed and such and I was like how bad could it be ? -- Well it's bad and I am kind of ticked off at SDS. I really hope SDS increases the XP gain by 10 to 15% and increases the cap from 30 / 40 per day back to 60.
The strange thing is and if I am wrong but SDS has not made ANY comment on this issue so it's making me wonder if this is legal to put in at all. I mean it's something that is not talked about but most know of a cap and at the time it was to combat people who used the system ( via bugs SDS did not catch ) . Now SDS I am asking you outright please make a post and PIN it discussing the XP and the XP cap

No, what I am saying is to allow a certain amount of total XP every day and let the totals accumulate. For example (and I don't remember how many days the season is good for, so this is just a number) - They give us a 90-day season with 1m XP to finish. Divided that XP by 59 days (about 17k XP per day) and then allow the total to accumulate.
Day 1: 17K
Day 2: 34K
Day 3: 51KBy day 15 (which we're almost at) the total amount of XP a person could have earned is 255k, or about 1/4 of the way to the finish.
This way, it controls the XP creep, but for those who can only play on certain days, they can gain XP up to that day's limit.
So, if a person is at 68k, but the program is at day 10, they can go up to 170K in one day.
Like I said, these are not actual numbers, only an example of what I mean by a rolling XP total.

My guess is that the XP cap is in place to thwart any exploits someone might find early on. You know the story, someone finds an exploit, posts a how-to vid on youtube, people abuse it, forum freaks out, "ban 'em all" posts, same thing every year. They'll remove it once they can be reasonably certain the code can't be exploited - until it's exploited again and the cap will be back.
-
I got to thinking about this more and it's now been a thing for 3 games this might be the forth but either way it is now a part of the game. This being the case SDS needed ( needs ) to put in a way for it to be tracked by the players so WE know when were getting close to hitting the cap. IF your not going to put in a method for us to know then how legal or heck take out legalities out of it but how right is it and how fair is it to the players who bought the game.
I can understand putting it in for a short time to combat players who have found bugs you guys missed to cheese the game but why make us suffer ( lack of better word ) cause you guys cannot do your job right in finding the bugs. Now maybe it's not all your fault maybe this is on the corporate level maybe they have done something that makes it harder on you guys but still the players are being hurt by this and it has to stop. -

Honestly I think capping daily XP in general is a rather slimy move to begin with. Who honestly cares about how quick someone motors through the program? I don't. That's like buying a car and the dealership saying "yeah you can only drive 175 miles a day and then the engine shuts off and wont start again until the next day"
Sure they have top end rewards...but it doesnt exactly make them world beaters if they can't use them correctly. They shot the grinders in the femoral artery by lowering the cap of daily xp, but then they also punished the guys who can't grind, and only play an hour or two every day or every other day but cutting the XP rewards in half. Now I can get behind one thing, or the other...but not both. -
They have to do this because there are so many people who figure out ways to cheat. I played a ton yesterday and eventually got a warning that I had hit the max. I have no problem with that because it was a sign to give it a rest.
-
It's not like any of the rewards, other than packs, in the XP Path are sellable. Let people play how they want to play.
-
so SDS wants to be like a parent to us ?? I m a grown man who can decide how much I want to play and not play and I am willing ( might not like ) a reasonable XP cap when the XP we got was decent now it's not compared to how much XP we need. I realize there might be some give and take from the community but it seems like they are just taking without much giving unless headaches count.
-
If they are just trying to prevent cheaters, why is the limit so low that you can hit it by playing without cheating in 3-4 hours? That doesn’t even add up.
-
I’d like to thank everybody who commented on this topic so far. I thought I got some weird error code but you guys all summed it up for me pretty well. This is the first time ever that I’ve gotten an XP cap. Which I’ll say is good and bad for all the reasons you all described. I can’t grind like other people bc I work a very odd work schedule that fights my other responsibilities before gaming. So for me it sucks there is a cap, but I guess that means today was the first time I was able to sit down and play for a while which is the case.
-
I think a big problem is that SDS needs to explain what the cap is.
It doesn't seem to impact everyone the same, so how do we know it isn't some rolling type of cap?Is anyone under, say, 200K total exp hitting it now?

Its probably aimed at slowing down the top 5-10% as well. Which has its pros and cons.
But even without the track experience there is still pxp, progression on other programs, and grinding packs. So its not like they can't progress. -
@Teak2112 The unintended (probably) consequence is handcuffing people who can’t play everyday and really setting them even further behind. Some people get a day or 2 a week where they can play for hours and now they get about 3-4 hours before they hit the cap and have to wait. That’s an awful restriction for people who are already at a disadvantage.
-
Honestly, the easiest solution to this is to make the XP cap cumulative as opposed to daily. So, fine, they want a 15K XP daily cap (or whatever it is). Instead of capping it at 15K per day, just make the total XP cap go up by 15K each day. So, the total (not daily) XP cap would be like 150K right now since this is the 10th day of release. Then, those that can only play a day or two a week can still keep up.
