Multiple PS5 Question
-
So I have MLB 24 attached to my PlayStation plus account. My younger son has a profile I created for him so that he can play on the PlayStation as well. We are finishing up a family room in the basement and I was going to buy a second PS5. Will I be able to log onto my profile on that as well in the same household to play the game?
I assume we won't be able to play MLB at the same time, but can one person play MLB and the other play FC 24 for example that is in the same account?
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. The data is held on the server in your account name. Given that, local modes have saved data on the console and need to be backed up to the cloud on one console to be available on the other.
As long as you're on separate accounts, you can play from the same copy of the game. Once the game is installed on the console, it is available to all accounts on that console. Given that, the goodies that come with the game are only available to the first account that uses the game. You can also download the game to another console from your account.
When we go to Florida to visit our son, I put my account on his machine and play the game. One year I had to download it before playing, but since then, he has gotten the game and has it loaded, so all I have to do is log into my account on his console and then I can play as usual.
I don't know the answer for sure, but it doesn't make sense to me that two players can play on the same account at the same time (same game or not), whether on the same internet service or not. In your case, your son can play on his account and you can play on your account at the same time.

You can play at the same time. Your son can play MLBTS24 on your main PS5 console using his profile, while you are playing MLBTS24 on the other (secondary) PS5 (in the basement) using your profile. While you can own and use mulltiple PS5s, only your main PS5 console can you share your purchased/downloaded games with other users...as long as they are playing and logged in to your main PS5 console (not the one in your basement) with their own profile.

I'm not sure about this. When we were in Florida and I downloaded the game to my son's PS5 (from my account), he was able to play the game on his account after I removed my account and came home.

Seems like I was able to do this once by changing one of the consoles to primary and the other to ……can’t remember now lol I wanted to say ‘secondary’ but that doesn’t seem right maybe it’s just primary and ‘not primary’ as in having it selected on one but not the other.
Now that I think of it that may only be for if they are on the same network and signed into the same account. I should’ve just kept my mouth shut as usual lol
