cpu throws wayyyyy too many balls on rookie
-
Another night, another frustrating couple hours of "working" 3-0 counts and getting plunked at random.
Thanks for the admission that you're aware of this, CBrev and the rest, but GET ON IT. People paid a premium for early access and a major part of the game is BROKEN.
Ridiculous.
-
Again, how does something like this make it past any sort of QA testing? You would have discovered this with like 10 minutes of gameplay. Did they know a major aspect of the game was broken but released the game anyways?

It did not get past QA. We early-access chumps are in fact the testers.

This acrually seems to have helped alot of guys in ranked season seem to have really good eyes now compared to previous games wherere 75% of players not in CS or wS would swing at 95% of pitches strikes or not

Mmmmmmmmmkay. Scientifically sound, especially given the extensive timeframe of this study.

I still don’t think it’s 100% a bug issue. I think they were determined to start this year with slower progression. There are not enough changes to the gameplay and graphics from the last few years for there to be bugs like that that aren’t easily recognized and fixed before the game went live. Are they having developer issues or are they having higher up issues at SDS that are demanding different player engagements and progression? I hope it’s just not the developers making these changes. If so, I just don’t understand zapping the fun from your game by nerfing gameplay that has been around for years. Change other things and players would be more accepting of gameplay and progression nerfs.

@MetalDoc17
The game has been moving in this direction for a few years now, imo. It has finally reached a point where a larger percentage of the player population is reacting negatively to it.This may very well have been the point? What is the most balls the cpu can throw before the player base will not accept…
So is it a bug? Maybe.
-
@halfbutt I’ve only played on rookie, veteran and all star, but I haven’t experienced that on any level. There is an increase in balls, but that claim was extremely hyperbolic.
-
@MetalDoc17
Good point... about them not wanting the player base to progress too fast. After playing a few games of Mini Seasons, it definately seems that way. While I like the general direction of that, they did go a bit too far with the lesser amout of quality pitches to hit...especially on Rookie. -
"Lesser amount of quality pitches to hit"? Is that a joke?
3/4 of at-bats start 3-0. This is not an exaggeration. I have taken screenshots to reassure myself that I'm not exaggerating. Yesterday in miniseasons the first 13 pitches were 11 balls and 2 strikes.
This is [censored] unplayable.
-
@SuntLacrimae50 I ran a test yesterday and didn’t experience anything close to this, so frankly I don’t believe you.
-
@GoozeFn
What was that test? Because most players are experiencing the terrible cpu pitching on that same level while you are flipping equipment. Just saying you seem to be defending the game pretty hard other than not being able to make bank on flips. And before you say it I’m also married with a kid, work full time, and hit the gym every morning at 4am, so yes I touch grass and am just as busy as you are.
-
@GoozeFn
How long have you been playing the show, sir?I go back to at least 14. I can say that, from my experience, I am not exaggerating.
-
Has anyone seen an intentional walk by the computer? It feels like the CPU at times is throwing four pitches to intentional walk instead of just putting the batter on base. Not Everytime, but often enough.
-
@TripleH-4481 Just a simple test playing a few games on rookie in mini seasons. At no point in 3 games did I have consecutive batters get a 3-0 count. I’ve been pretty critical of the game actually. I just don’t mind actually being able to work a walk for once.
-
Folks can argue if it's a bug or not, but please note SDS already posted in this thread: We are aware that the CPU is throwing too many balls in Diamond Dynasty and are currently investigating the issue.
-
@halfbutt I’m not exactly sure. Maybe since the beginning.
-
I am getting plenty of walks for sure, but I also agree that multiple batters in a row starting 3-0 is not something I’m experiencing. I’m also willing to hypothesize it’s pure luck when the pitcher hits the strike zone…. But they generally do within the first few pitches at least every few batters.
-
@TripleH-4481 every once in a while, it happens multiple times every game
-
@JDHalfrack As someone who has finished very conquest available, If I took a screenshot of every CPU pitcher placement on rookie, it would look like 80% of balls are WAY outside the zone, where the rest in the zone are nearer to the outside walls.
On Rookie last year, its like 70% meatballs, 20% corner dots, and 10% outside the zone.
Whatevers happening is more noticeable when youve played a ton on the rookie/vet level.
