cpu throws wayyyyy too many balls on rookie
-
@SuntLacrimae50 I have not experienced 75% of ab on rookie starting 3-0. If that were the case, I agree that it’s a problem. I just haven’t seen that, or anything close to it. I think the rate should mimic real baseball.

It’s a good thing this is getting looked into. I maybe walked 10 times all of last year, I hated missions that included walks because I sucked at them.
This year I just counted. 43 walks and I0 HBP. And these numbers are still going to be far less than other players because I still swing at some junk and would have more walks
-
One of the things I hate the most about it is how much it slows the games down. This afternoon it took me about 45-50 minutes to play a CPU game that I only won 15-0 (or so). So many 3 ball counts. A lot of times I would swing at pitches way out of the zone just to extend an at bat to possibly get offensive stats with TA players.
-
I actually won a tony gwinn moment to get on base 3 times by taking 3 walks. Ridiculous.
-
I really can’t believe people thought this was some sort of feature and not a bug. That’s wild to me.
-
Don't forget that if you use classic pitching you still are very late on release Everytime. Forced me to use pulse pitching

It will make you a better hitter. Ive noticed people playing online the last year or so have much better eyes at the plate even with mediocre to bad ranked records.
don't get better at PvP on All Star/HoF by "working counts" AGAINST CPU PITCHERS ON ROOKIE.
this is actually a very good point……the cpu will eventually throw a strike which is nothing like online
teehee

Oddly enough, I will sort of miss this when its fixed. I play on All Star and the current bug feels more realistic weirdly than in the past, minus the absurdly wild pitches and beanballs. I wish there was sort of a halfway inbetween between last year and this bug for the higher difficulties.
Rookie, however, should be almost all pitches over the plate

@CBrev47
2 additional things to look at:
-
On time timing! Too many balls going foul that are timed up in the green and in the strike zone. If you are on time on a pitch in the strike zone, it should never go foul, otherwise you would not be on time!
-
Can we tone down the superman fielding for offline play please! This was a consistent issue last year as well. Way too many bad/average fielding players making superman like plays, consistently. I get at least 3 to 4 per game and only 1 maybe 2 are from players who could potentially pull it off. The others are just super unrealistic. Additionally, I have had players missing routine ground balls that they are camped in front off way too often.

I have walked more times in this game than did in the last 3 on Xbox and it's very frustrating

Pretty sure this is just a Visual Bug on the Feedback. At Least on the User Side. I use Classic Pitching and I don't have any problems at all. It's no different than any other year. Sure it's not as accurate as any of the other Pitching Methods, but it's not supposed to be.
-
I've also have had no problem using classic pitching
-
Another night, another frustrating couple hours of "working" 3-0 counts and getting plunked at random.
Thanks for the admission that you're aware of this, CBrev and the rest, but GET ON IT. People paid a premium for early access and a major part of the game is BROKEN.
Ridiculous.

Again, how does something like this make it past any sort of QA testing? You would have discovered this with like 10 minutes of gameplay. Did they know a major aspect of the game was broken but released the game anyways?

It did not get past QA. We early-access chumps are in fact the testers.

This acrually seems to have helped alot of guys in ranked season seem to have really good eyes now compared to previous games wherere 75% of players not in CS or wS would swing at 95% of pitches strikes or not

Mmmmmmmmmkay. Scientifically sound, especially given the extensive timeframe of this study.

I still don’t think it’s 100% a bug issue. I think they were determined to start this year with slower progression. There are not enough changes to the gameplay and graphics from the last few years for there to be bugs like that that aren’t easily recognized and fixed before the game went live. Are they having developer issues or are they having higher up issues at SDS that are demanding different player engagements and progression? I hope it’s just not the developers making these changes. If so, I just don’t understand zapping the fun from your game by nerfing gameplay that has been around for years. Change other things and players would be more accepting of gameplay and progression nerfs.
