Why does this game penalize you for swinging at first pitches???

I spent waaaay more time than needed on this dumb Mantle 3 hit starter mission late, meat balls with good swing timing....pop up pop up pop up pop up, unreal...how can games like PS2 MVP 2005 perfect hitting in 1-2 years and this game takes decades??? If MVP had a franchise currently this game wouldn't have a chance

Were talking about EA here, i'm sure they woulda screwed it up a long time ago... I have zero faith in EA... MVP 2005 is a great game though, MLB the Show actually stoled some gameplay ideas from that game, and that's a good thing...

I don’t have as big a problem as this ... you have to know your batters and where there sweet spot is ... I’ve hit many lead off homers with Acuna on the first pitch of a game, I look for that one spot until I have 2 strikes ... then I protect the plate .... side note - I don’t use PCI ...
