What am I missing with this Conquest mission?
-
Why is buying packs always the reason behind everything? They have a pack that lets you skip across the map? They have packs that make pitchers throw down the middle? How are these issues even correlated in anyway to buying packs?
-
Yes this is a bit unusual with a challenge out of the gate but i love a good challenge, beat the Jays on Veteran, and then challenged myself and beat the Mariners on Hall of Fame. Actually enjoyed the Hall of Fame game because pitches were more hittable, yes tons of balls but way better.
Only problem is i can't read lol, it's Blue Jays and Diamondbacks (facepalm)
-
@arvcpa its really not. I completed all challenges in 11 turns. First game on veteran, second on all star, then 2 veterans and the last 2 on rookie.
-
I’m about as casual as they come, and I would certainly not call myself “good” at this game. That said, this entire conquest is MORE than beatable…
15 moves is way more than doable. Hell, I beat the entire US map on turn 34, and that was only due to me jacking around for about ten turns towards the end. If I can do it, others can too.
If you’re held up on having to beat the CPU on All-Star, then it’s gonna be a long season for you. There are a lot of issues with the game right now. This particular conquest map ain’t one of them.
-
Could you do it by the end of turn 12?
-
@PAinPA The U.S. map? Me? No. I’m not that good at the game to play that many on hall of fame or legend. That map is twice as big as the spring one with 5 times as many teams.
That said, I’m sure there are some people that could absolutely beat the U.S. map in 12 turns or less!
-
Took me 9 moves to beat the map, this is very beatable

Actually you can set it up to where every game is on all-star.( took me 11 turns,at beginning of year with mostly silvers and golds)that wasn't the hard part though, hard part was Yankees in 2 turns(1 led stl ,Det on HoF, and nyy on led.
SF on x turns (which was 4 HoF) cubs on 1st turn(HoF the year after WS) and MIA on x turns ( which was 2 led stl and MIA on HoF).
This was 2017 the first conquest extreme (when CQX was twice as Xtreme as the ones we get now. -

A single All Star game isn't particularly challenging. You can think of it more as a 'normal' difficulty for offline. I am bad at the game, I use timing/directional hitting, and I can beat All Star most of the time especially considering these are live series teams where you can control the pitcher you get. Its not a guarantee I win (and to be fair, neither is Rookie...sometimes the CPU just feels it) but it should be doable for most people, particularly after you get stuff from the nation conquest and the spring breakout program
-
In general the game needs more mid difficulty offline content so this is a very positive sign in general
-
It's not timed content, so feel free to come back to it after the pitching bug is fixed. And until the pitching bug is fixed All Star may feel better to play at because the pitcher throws strikes a lot more (still will get a fair amount of walks and easy HBP though, but most at bats will have stuff to hit)
-
-
Did you even try it? The first one is on veteran, the second on all star. Relax.
-
@nymets1987 Ok so I was sort of frustrated that they release a turn based conquest this early but I knocked out the Toronto and AZ without a problem, on All star and Veteran.
It was actually the first All Star difficulty CPU game I played this year. It wasn't that bad. A hint - if you can do it, collect 30 cards for the S1 collection and get 89 All Star Biggio. 85 speed and 99 drag bunt. If not, get Live Series Garrett Hampson from KC with 91 speed and 96 drag bunt. Lead off with him and drag bunt and hopefully this gets you on 1st. Then sub in someone with 90+speed and stealing and take 2nd. -
@SuntLacrimae50
Well thank goodness. Now I have permission to relax.
And I ended up beating it the way everyone recommended -- Toronto first, then swing down to Phoenix for a game on AS.
-
@NYGxNYMxFan68
Is LS Garrett Hampson going to be the MVP of Showdown this year???
-
This conquest is not hard. Just go straight up to the Toronto, then go down and play Arizona, then within the next 2 turns play the Brewers.

Lol, sorry for the snark. Just maybe try it out before jumping to the forums???
-
@SuntLacrimae50 I tried it out the other way first (Arizona then up to Toronto) and maybe I made a bad route or lost some fans against one of Toronto's hexagons, but it seemed like I was going to have to play one on HoF. That's totally fine, but it felt like an error to have a mildly-extreme moment on launch day. But doing it the other way makes more sense.
No worries on the snark! That's my signature move.
-
@SchnauzerFace I have not used him personally. But in Showdown if you get the bunt cheese perk it does the same thing. People are going to play how they are going to play...and being able to bunt their way to a double is an advantage. Why not use it against the CPU?
-
@Easy_Duhz_It_ It was pretty easy - just strange. I don't mind this kind of stuff at all. I just need to make sure and "read the brief" before starting these.
-
I despise turn-based Conquests. It's why I didn't do the Extreme one in '23.
-
@soonermagic78 same happened to me several times, sds needs to fix their game
