This is reassuring. I thought it was just me. I rarely ever walked in 23. I swing at almost everything. And I'm walking several times a game now. Poor Griffey has been hit by pitches 7 times already. And I've hit a few home runs, but everything feels much weaker. With all the walks and deadball stuff, hitting just isn't very fun. Big problem for a baseball game.
And I am not a good hitter but sadly now I know it’s not just me

Vs CPU on Rookie is not difficult... It's just annoying as heII.

@VioletNine9 I wanted to post this yesterday but I thought it might just be my bad luck it is crazy how many walks you can easily get even on Veteran in previous games I would have to play on AS or higher

I play on rookie to get my timing back before getting into more competitive games and the cpu won’t throw a strike. This game is the worst at launch since the 17 servers. Which is the last time they did a beta hmmmmm

Patch tonight hoping ( crossing every finger and toe ) that some of this stuff gets fixed. I mean honestly game play wise outside of some things like this ( balls galore ) game feels like last year in terms of hitting. I mean I have some other issues with some systems but that would be off topic so will keep it too myself ( XP is less in games but we have to grind out a lot more on path ) -- oops -- LOL

This has been frustrating to say the least. I’ve had 12 at bats with 89 Mullins. I’ve drawn 6 walks. I’ve drawn 8 walks with Giancarlo Stanton in only a few more at bats. I get that this is supposed to be ‘simulated’ baseball but ultimately it’s a video game. Going several minutes watching the cpu pitch all around the strike zone is making gameplay extremely tedious and boring. Hopefully they’ll get this sorted out quickly because my interest level is dropping fast.

Let me start out by saying I’m a terrible hitter and swing at a lot so I never walked in 23, hardly ever. I’ve walked 6 times so far this year. If you’re walking ME, your pitcher is throwing too much garbage

Its definitely a bug.
All these balls have pitch release: very late
On All Star typically 3 of them end over the plate before 4 are off, unless its a slider heavy pitcher.

I thought it was just me - obviously they are doing it to slow people down but it needs to be tweaked.

Played a conquest game last night. CPU walked batter on 4 pitches. Hit the next batter on first pitch. Walked the 3rd batter on 5 pitches. In the bright side, I’m learning discipline. On the downside, I’m barely hitting .300 with most guys trying to rush conquest games.

I think timing is a little bit off this year as well. I have had too many foul balls on green timing and pitches in the strike zone! If it is a strike and the timing is in the green, it should never be a foul ball!!!

Agreed. Timing is a tick off. The CPU pitching has zero control. Exit velo is solid and visually looks great. They need to tweak it without ruining the game. Fingers crossed.

I'm actually using this opportunity to force myself to stop swinging at pitches. It's helping me with my patience, which has always been hard for me in this game.
I'm sure they'll tweak it soon but maybe by then I'll be in the habit of waiting for "my" pitch. -
