I'm sorry SDS, you were right

Guaranteed both of you^^^ are casuals that stop playing before the break because theres "nothing to do" while the rest of us are enjoying the grind.

I played last year nearly the entire year and preferred last year's method too. It actually kept me more interested than normal and I know I was excited to get Roki back in season 6. It was a more fun method imo and led to the online gameplay feeling more consistent than any year prior.

I've never been a casual. I'm a competitive player who actually values my time. I grind hard every year. This year I'm only grinding just for the collections. I have zero desire to use or play with cheeks cards in ranked seasons.
Enjoying the grind? There is nothing enjoyable about this grind. Unless you're a casual........

I can see both sides. There was a lot of chaotic excitement early last year with all the 99 content that was immediately available, but it did burn itself out in my opinion once it just became about replacing 99s with other 99s every season.
Can understand people having a hard time going back to the slow grind approach with lesser cards.

I'm glad there aren't day 1 99 cards. That said, I have an almost all diamond lineup already. So gold/silver/bronze/commons are pretty much worthless before the game even begins. The grind complaint just sounds like players who want their toys right away. I mean, the game is baseball. Over and over again. Of course it's a grind. There's only so many ways to vary it. I still prefer a progression of cards/players, even if the range is only really 85->99.

@Thongypu itβs the fact that we havenβt seen the power creep in a over a year and a half (half of 22 plus 23) but when it comes down to it these 89s are very good cards for the first month of the game. If u donβt want to grind for them to not be usable later then just do the same grind later on and u will receive better cards. The power creep is just so much better long term than 99s day one you donβt want to only be moving laterally and never upward all year it just loses its fun after a month or two while a power creep can keep players engaged for months on end

I'm sure your opinion is probably more common than mine. Going back to this method along with increasing stub prices on some of these packs and seemingly reducing xp is just a means to them maximizing profit which is fine, but them going back to this probably has little to do with user feedback and fun but rather less people buying stubs early to get 95+ players before anyone else.

@Easy_Duhz_It_ Calm down, sir

Just another instance of them not being able to please everyone.
I must admit I was looking at the programs and rewards and asking myself who I was excited to get and I did not really have an clear cut answer. Plus after being spoiled last year it is really tough to go back to trying to hit with some of these flawed gold and low diamond cards.

They opened pandora's box on that one now it's hard to close it back up

Hahahah the 99 lovers are so mad!!! Love to see it.

I do wish the stupid 4 pack we got were silver and gold TA cards because I miss those a lot but other than that itβs at a pretty good balance. A lot of cards look pretty good, nobody looks super meta, exactly how it should be.
By this time last year you could have a full 97 overall switch hitting infield with 90+ speed. There should not be obvious picks like that, you should look at a different team every time you load in to a game online.

Wait, wait, wait... There's a McCutchen in there
I need to get my Pirates logo back instead of this hideous brown thing. (Edit - wait - I think my logo is back...)

I find it hard to re-adjust to power-creep too ( ) β¦ but it is awesome to have it back
