Well technically we don't know if there is a reason or not.
It could be a mandate passed down by Sony that they don't want an in game feature that requires a USB drive be inserted into one of their USB ports at all times. You can't copy files onto the PS5 internal drive like you used to be able to do with the older consoles.

Are you talking about adding your own Playlist to listen to whole playing the game?
If so, chances are, with people being able to stream their games, it could lead to copyright infringement and not paying royalty issues.
