Question for the the SDS crew
-
This is an interesting take. I've never given a second thought to those short cut-scenes between innings. For me the best part is building out an entire stadium and adding those decorative touches to match whatever niche you're going for. I can't say I've ever even thought about the functionality and interaction of the crowds.
But yeah, custom foul territory would be nice. Or even just different template layouts for bullpens. Even if it was like the pre-made outfield wall templates, it would add a lot to the overall views and scenery.
-
@OddCoIIector Oh I get it, not everyone in the creator community even cares about the people using the amenities and that's perfectly fine. For me it just adds a bit of life to the stadium, makes the park feel a bit more bustling. I would love even just templates for foul territory and bullpens...don't even have to be placeable. And simple things like being able to snap say, the grass ramps to the walls to make a little grass buffer between the wall and seats...give the impression that the field is dug down
-
@Sarge1387_PSN how about being able to “bend” the stands to match the outfield walls?
-
@Blind_Bleeder This too...I'd love if they got rid of the "red flash of doom" areas altogether, that fact those even exist bothers me a bit. I've gotta imagine they've done something to the mode to improve it, bare minimum the bullpen and foul territory thing

I agree. I would love the bullpens to be between the stands beyond the outfield walls.
-
@Blind_Bleeder My biggest concern is, like my original post, is that because it's a niche feature it's gonna be largely ignored despite its more-than-anticipated popularity...but three years in there's a ton of suggestions they could have taken...I guess we will find out soon enough. I am curious though, since they allegedly added the Kingdome if that means we'll be able to make domed stadiums now
-
I just read that you can bring stadiums from 2023 into 2024. That oddly enough makes me think nothing changes in the stadium creation. Unless the carryover ones will remain static and your new ones will have new features.
-
@fubar2k7 the optimist in me says that just means that stay as the “jewel box” design, but could be tweaked if you wanted to
-
@CBrev47_MLBTS Are you able to provide any details about the stadium creator? What sort of QoL improvements there are if any?(Bullpen placement, foul territory, domes etc)
-
One of the biggest QoL updates they could do for the stadium creator is find a way to remove all the ridiculous # of duplicate stadiums or provide a filter so we can eliminate/hide some of them. They could probably eliminate over half of the stadiums if they find a way to get rid of all the duplicates. And a way to categorize stadiums (fictional, arcade, realistic, etc) would help filter out stadiums you don't want to see.
-
@GreyOsprey4229 I actually would love being able to filter out dupes and styles...would make finding a decent stadium so much easier

I don't understand their system at all. If I download a stadium and make no changes to it at all then why is there a requirement to upload the same exact stadium again before I can use it?
Talk about wasted server space when there are 800-1000 Costco parks in the vault.

@CBrev47_MLBTS @Collin_SDS_PSN are you able to confirm anything for stadium creator at all? Any changes?

This ^^^^^^^
The dupe stadiums wouldn't happen if we didn't have to upload them after downloading them. It's a crazy system that makes no sense.
I can see the need to mark favorites so the player doesn't have to scroll through them all to play in one they like, but we shouldn't have to upload them again.
-
@Blind_Bleeder
Yeah But: Player created stadiums aren't preloaded into the game content, so we have to upload to attach them to our downloaded version of the game.
But Also: I have no idea how easy or difficult it would be to program the automatic download/upload of a new stadium into the preload screen seamlessly.

I think homerun animations would be cool, like a fireworks Canon that goes off when you hit a hr.
More flag options
Real stadium templates for example if you wanted a fenway park like stadium you start with a template . -
I didn't play 23, but from what I can see, very little has improved since 22.
