No season one doesn’t = set one. It’s season one. Sets aren’t a thing anymore they didn’t say anything about it. They took sets out.
And beer isn't a thing anymore either. I'm going to call it "adult water," and never use the word. Therefore it won't be a thing anymore.

@SaveFarris Yes he is.

Ummm okay . I tried explaining

@Bearsfan217
I didn’t understand how you explained it. Sets and seasons merged into seasons? So where are the sets? Or set cards?
-
@SaveFarris
A couple of Conerstone Captain Choice Pack questions for you Farris:-
If you choose Conerstone Buxton or Arenado as your Choice Pack selection, are you able to add Conerstone Captain Maddux on Senga later, or are these unsellable?
-
Will we still be able to use a Hitting Captain along with a Pitching Captain?

Maybe im not explaining it well. But what i hated about Sets last year was that that the cards expired, became unusable without a wildcard. Well they did away with sets, essentially just made seasons and made the cards unusable after the season. Basically doing the same thing as Sets were last year. Make sense? Its basically the same system

I have no insider info other than what's in the blog post. I think Cornerstones will be sellable if only because Senga's card had a 'New' marker while the other's didn't. Did the account they pull those pictures from already have Arenado, Buxton, and Maddux? ... UNLESS ... they are unsellable until they get re-released in the "Forever" program in November.
-
Since they didn't say otherwise, I'd assume that Hitting/Pitching Captains remain. But again, that's just educated speculation.

@SaveFarris
Not sure, but it looks like they dropped the label "Sets" and just have "Seasons" instead, which I like. Last year, we had five Sets and the most recent Set would overlap and carry over into the next season. So if this is true, then "S1" on the top of the card is representing "Season 1" rather than "Set 1"...etc.So if this is accurate, then the structure should be:
S1 (Season 1)
S2 (Season 2)
S3 (Season 3)
Core -
Right. So instead of "set cards" its just "season cards"
-
Who's on first?

Ty France, Josh Naylor, and ... Ryan Mountcastle?

I would LOVE some clarification on the following section:
"But while most of the game will follow the new gradual climb in OVRs each season, there is one outlier: The Live Series Collection reward. We know our fans love earning that sweet 99 Core reward once the collection is completed, so of course it’s still a thing in ‘24. This reward will take a considerable amount of time and skill, so be prepared to level up not only your squad, but also your prowess on the sticks if you want to earn it.
A saying that our development team has coined is “that it feels good to be bad, and then git gud.” We hope that our players will share that sentiment and Play to 99 with us as every season unfolds this year! "
That doesn't sound like a COLLECTION at all...
-
@mietha
It seems like they are going to reward users more for how they compete online in H2H modes( i.e. RS). ...Grinding vs CPU will still be rewarding, but maybe those who like to play vs other users online will have better rewards and progression towards the LS collections.Something that I did not understad was their coined saying of "that it feels good to be bad, then git good"?...is this a typo? Maybe it should have read 'if it doesn't feel good being bad, then git good'?
-
People who “grind” on the lowest difficulty setting shouldn’t be awarded the same cards as people who are playing on higher difficulties. Scea giving out participation trophies.
-
What does it matter what difficulty that we grind on, we all play at a different level. Not all of us are top players especially if we play offline only
-
@douevenbench
Why is that? Why shouldn’t there hard work be rewarded? If they want to grind on rookie it’s fine. Hell some of the best players grind the cpu on rookie. So your statement is idiotic -
„idiotic“ for stating his opinion? Hm … Maybe it is both and it‘s kinda like I am reading the post. Online-People should get it faster through online while offline should still get it. It should always be possible to get every card by everybody.

It's idiotic because everyone who plays the game paid for the same game. If your next comment is, "but Xbox users didn't pay." Then you're forgetting that they paid for gamepass. Every game has difficulty levels. Yet I can still beat Assasins Creed, just like those that are better than me at it. If, after that, your next comment is, "but he states an opinion is idiotic." Then you're forgetting that he's stating the opinion is idiotic, not incorrect. It's alright to have an opinion on an opinion. All in all, I'd say you're opinion is idiotic, but that's just my opinion.
-
@broken_toy1 You take my post out of context. There was only one „idiotic“ and I think this is not the way a discussion needs to be … period, end of my statement

Is English your second language? I don't mean that as a sleight, but as a serious question. That would explain the ,,idiotic" instead of "idiotic" and the confusion in your comment after. If it is, I do apologize and commend your English. I can barely communicate in English and have been speaking it my whole life.
If you're just expressing your distaste at someone calling someone else's opinion idiotic, then I do apologize. It's sometimes difficult to properly convey how bad an idea is without being disrespectful of the idea itself. I think this was one of the few cases where I believe the respondent's opinion was correct. Although he could have been a little more diplomatic in his response, the initial comment was so condescending it called for a harsher response. Giving someone a "participation trophy" is synonymous to calling someone a loser.
