position players pitching
-
not sure why its not in '23 game but how come they took out the option to have a position player to pitch, this should be back...

MLB has a rule against using position players as pitchers unless your leading by 10 or more in the 9th or losing by 8 or more runs.
-
Have you tried switching the DH with another position player (not bench) forcing the pitcher to hit and then substituting someone off the bench with the pitcher?
I haven’t tried that in a while, and it’s a big hassle, but I’ve done it before.

@Blind_Bleeder the question is when.... in 23...22....21... let me know

I know this still works as of last night but now that I think about it the player I subbed in to pitch from LF was lightning Othani so could’ve been because he’s a pitcher lol duh

It still works. I did it just now on my Switch with Mike Trout.

I assume he was trying to keep his DH in place and just replace the pitcher thus circumventing the new MLB rule which the game clearly follows which I had no idea they did until he said he couldn’t bring a position player into the game to pitch.

I don‘t like such ideas … nobody should be able to sub in a position player to pitch (out of position) …
Also: Nobody should be able to run the bases counter-clock-wise … It is MLB the Show and it should kinda resemble the sport as a sim (no I won‘t go into stadiums this time ).If they did it we would see lots of those cheesy players doing it all the time (like hitting every batter, unplugging the controller, pauser timer … bunt dancing, R2 …) … Most of the time it is user-fault
