I’m going to pre order. The sets thing doesn’t bother me, in reality the game is still very much the same as it has always been. In years past I never used cards I obtained in April online in July anyways so I wasn’t going to throw a fit over and quit playing a game I enjoy because SDS didn’t make me play with 92 overalls for the first 3 months

I’m going to wait until the off-season when the game is $10. It only takes a week or two to get a decent team together to play online, and the actual gameplay has been a disappointment for years.

    Whatever works!

I've been pre-ordering for as long as I can remember. I think I'll wait this year to see what's in store for 24.

Same for me. Last year was going to be the year I didn't get it but the addition of the Negro Leagues sucked me back in. I enjoyed that program but pretty disappointed how that aspect of the game just fell off a cliff.

My man, I feel exactly the same. They finally acknowledge the Negro Leagues and then do them like that? A mode that you finish in a couple hours & a handful of players? HUGE L.

@YOSHI24 it's just that those are among my favorite guys to play with. It galls me to know I have them but can't use them. What's the point if you can't play with the players you want to? Just don't like that aspect of sets and Seasons.

There's literally no reason for me to pre order . I have xbox and if it's free on Xbox I'll wait and I'll use the money I would have spent on the game on stubs.

I have endured the server issues of '15, the bunt cheese of '16, the 'be late-be great' of '17, the jersey collection dumpster of '18, etc.

However, this year's expiring cards format was the most disappointing to me, as far as content goes. Regardless, I do love baseball....so I will carry on and pre-order, as usual.

I’ll preorder the digital edition for my Xbox and the mvp physical edition for my ps5. If it comes to switch which I’ve heard it is and isn’t I’ll get a copy of that too. Idc. The poopiest MLB the show is still better than nothing

@LIONED-33 What's the switch for? When you're sitting in the back of mommies minivan in the McDonald's drive through?

I still can't believe some kid on a 4 inch screen gets to compete against $500 consoles and $500 gaming monitors.

I played this game year round the last 5 years and made it thru half of season 4 before tapping out. Haven’t played a game since.

Im not sure I will even buy it next year, more so see no reason to pre-order until possibly a day or so before release.

I'm preordering regardless because of the "perks" you get even if they don't have much of an impact on how you play the game... when I preorder is usually more financial than anything else but at the latest I typically preorder the day before the game drops unless there is an incentive in the current game to preorder sooner... for example getting a special card of the cover athlete to use in the current game before the new game releases like the did with Aaron Judge and I want to say a couple of other cover athletes got the same treatment... I believe they did it with Jazz last year if I'm not mistaken.

I am…I used to play The Show year round. This year I quit from Season 3 until now because I refused to accept their new rotating cards out of online use. I’ll wait until the streams and if Ramone says “ALL cards will remain usable online ALL year” then I’ll buy it. If not then I’ll pass. Just curious if others were going to hold off preordering for whatever reasons.

absolutely mate - i have been playing this game since inception - and next year will be based on exactly what you said - i have no interest in non stop grinding for cards - the way its designed currently is nonsense

May I ask what the difference in grinding exactly is. To me 21&22 were more of a grind, because there was constantly new and better cards … until say October.
In 23, I used Set 1 in Season 1+2 and only bought Set 2 cards, when S3 came around. This way, I did not have to grind that much … and imo less than in 21/22 …
I am totally with you, that 23 was less fun … but I like the power creep

@YOSHI24 For me personally I just didn’t like how I P5’d a 99 ovr player then I was instantly told - You can’t use this card you grinded anymore, Instead you can grind this 97 ovr lesser version of the SAME PLAYER. Just ridiculous.

    True.
I was going through my inventory, and came upon Charisma Griffey Jr., and said 'That was a pretty good card that I got to P4, and like that, he was gone.' Same with that cracked Charisma Jeff McNeil.
    Sets was a misstep.

I think sets can work if it’s a progression each season has a different high ovr

ok, got that … the 97s after that suck, but that was bc of lacking players to choose from. Would it have been better, if no other 99 of that player came afterwards?

mate what i mean by the never ending grind is the idea of sets being closed and you must use new cards from new sets in future seasons - the very idea of just using the cards you earn was fine enough for me to grasp - having them locked to seasons can blow me sideways

    @IrishFist412

About that. There are so many negro leaguers. Season 1 was to introduce them, learn something about them, play the mode, collect all of them and pair them with Captain 95 buck oneil. I was excited to get 99's the first weekend with my sanford team. The problem with these cards is they quickly became dated with all the 99's around them being bigger and better. You were forced to use Captain 95 buck oneil with the tier 3 boost just to make them viable cards. I liked the fact that you got True 99's of each player around Set 3. Season 2 will give us THE GOATS OF THE NEGRO LEAGUES, OSCAR CHARLESTON AND JOSH GIBSON.
