Also, you'd probably be best putting the TV into Game mode as well and turn off the HDR if youre playing head 2 head.
HDR will not have any effect on lag. In some cases it actually helps. I always run HDR on my QLED TV. But I also use 'faster' mode because I can definitely tell the difference between the modes.
Yeah, I wasn't sure what the actual term was but I knew faster was recommended for online Head 2 head.

Yeah, I mean it is a fair assumption to assume HDR will cause more lag, but in reality it doesnt. But the 'faster" setting in game definitely makes a difference over "balanced' or 'sharper'.
Overall for optimal gameplay it would be on a 1080p panel with the faster setting. But if using a 4k panel I would recommend using 2160p, 4k, because that is the panels optimal setting.

Well I didn’t spend 1,800$ On a OLED HDR tv and get a PS4 Pro and expensive HDMI not to use HDR that would be meaningless so I think you almost have to utilize it if you have all 3

You should be fine lol. Just use the "faster" setting man. Oh, and the expensive HDMI cable could have been a waste of money. Anyone that matches your port speed, 2.0 or 2.1 or whatever should work fine. Whether it cost 12 bucks or 75.

Yes chuck I agree but I just can’t tell any difference and I’ve used all 3 that was my original argument

If you honestly dont see a difference then use "sharper" lol. If it doesnt affect your gameplay. because the game definitely looks WAY better on sharper. Just know that if you start seeing some hiccups that is probably why.

I’m using balanced rite now but was using sharper prior they both look good but if I used faster head to head online are u saying it would be faster but wouldn’t be 4k then rite..?

Y’all are just here to flex lmao

It would still be 4k or whatever setting your TV is on and PS4 is using. But 'faster, balanced and sharper" are ingame software settings that changes the in game image. Since the PS4 and PS4 pro have problems keeping up with the max settings. Like it to when playing a PC game at optimal settings and you have lag and go in and change the settings to high or medium. You are still using same resolution just lower settings.

Na I was really curious bruh not to brag but yea I have the very best and take it serious when it comes to my TV\Gaming department LoL

Haha no shame man, I’m just messing with you. I went the monitor route because I play way better on smaller screen, but I can imagine the game would be seamless in 4k
-
Yea that’s what I really wanted to know chuck about it being in game software setting

I am with ya. I dont have an OLED but a Samsung QLED, and it has tremendous brightness and great HDR. So I like to use sharper sometimes and take advantage of the visuals. But I do notice the lesser frame rates, though I have a keen eye for that stuff. Some people dont. Playing RDR2 on 4K and HDR on the QLED looks amazing. But really makes my PS4 Pro sound like a jet lol.
-
Yea PS4 Pro games in 4k on a OLED HDR or Qled is ridiculous
-
I am hoping by next year I can play The Show on that bad boy next to my PS4. It has no problems no matter what the settings.

I am hoping. But PC will probably release later in the year. So I may still go with PS. We will see. PS5 will be out, and I am sure it will have no problems with frame rates at first. PS4 is still doing fairly well considering the age.
-
Yea they’re trying to really make a splash coming out with it on next gen PS5 I can’t imagine it looking any better though prob just ridiculously faster processes and RAM

$1800 for a TV is hardly the very best, lol. Not to mention you are completely missing the point on everyone's advice and just reiterating your own stance. The response time will be best on game mode and on "faster." It may not look as pretty but the game will respond better online. It can't be any more simple than that. If you don't like that answer then play with the better graphics but you may experience more lag whether you admit it or not.

Balanced is fine i hear u though
