Sets and Seasons poll

I don't mind multiple 99s and I see it as kind of inevitable. The things that bothered me the most were.
-
My team based Theme Squad seemed to peak in season 2. It was an overall weaker team in season 3 and 4. That kind of kills motivation.
-
Using 99s of some of your favorite players in season 1 and 2 and knowing that they will be unusable from the all-star game until the end of the year. You want to use those players you have to use lesser versions (Gibson, Edmonds, Ozzie Smith, Stan Musial, etc).
-
Hall of famers without 99 cards while current players who will never be hall of famers get multiple 99s.
-
Spread the love more. If I was a Royals fan then I probably would not even bother to play. Ketel Marte and Corbin Carroll combined have the same number of 99 overall cards as the entire Royals team.
-
If you are going to issue multiple 99s for the same player then do so for players who are worthy of 99's for multiple teams. It's crazy to me that Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado don't have, and probably won't get, 99's for the Cardinals Theme team. I can't use their Colorado and Arizona versions on a Cardinals Theme and have them be affected by the captain.

Seasons, I don’t mind. Although I’d go back to “innings” myself since this is, well, baseball.
Sets? Get rid of the TA Collections!!! Or make them sellable. And definitely make TA way, way, way (I could keep going) less of a grind. ‘21 TA was perfect.

Can it!
Can it be tweaked? I guess, but I'd rather go back to innings like someone said above. -
If we have to have Sets again...
-
I do like the ideas others have put forth about Captains. Make them "Core", and allow 2 per team (one position player, one pitcher).
-
Like others have said, this year just felt so repetitive. I thought the WBC program was fun, then everything after that was just rinse-and-repeat. What I miss from prior installments was building throughout the year. I enjoyed starting with teams that were primarily "Prospect" packs from the USA map. It was a slow-burn throughout the year. There was anticipation for the All-Star cards, then Playoffs, then Finest. Cards just kept getting better as time went on. This year we were showered with a never-ending multiple 97's and 99's (many behind pay-walls)
How to fix it? I'm not creative. That's what I expect from my Forum-mates. Maybe Set 1 is maxed at 89 overall cards, Set 2 is a 92, Set 3 at 95, etc. Give me a reason to progress.

Gone.
How can expired cards within an annual game cycle ever be a good thing? -

100% agree. Bad for us, but good for SDS's bottom line.

If Sets are back next year, I might ride off into the sunset. The use of sets was really the death of theme teams. It just wasn't fun watching all these great players being unusable in most modes. But on the bright side, I did have 5 different Trouts
-
I hate sets! It's the reason I stopped playing DD this year and just play franchise. We should be able to make a team out of all the cards we have. I don't mind seeing events where stuff is limited to use certain cards but the grind to get up to 99's at the end of the season was the reason I played for years
-
They need to stop dictating how people play their own game. Every card should be attainable by playing offline or online. If you don't like playing online then you shouldn't have to suffer through it. Vice versa for the online players.
As someone who just started playing last week I think it's ignorant that you can only use some of the cards you have. Seeing 5 versions of the same guy is the epitome of being lazy. There isn't a shortage of ex MLB players to choose from.
I also don't like how hitters have now gotten attribute bumps in power and speed when they don't deserve it. There are so many cards with 80+ speed when they are really 40+ speed. It's comical and unrealistic.
Realism is what hooked people on this game. The parks and the field look real, but the players have such inflated stats it's beginning to be a turnoff.

No thanks.

I admit, I was all in for the 99s right off the bat and it was fun for like the first 3 sets. However, it got stale really fast. There were too many repeat 99s, worse 99s or worse cards after a 99 for my taste.
It's also annoying that we are in December and there are still a ton of Legends that don't have 99s or good 99s yet. How do we not have a good 99 Willie Mays yet, but have like a dozen JT Realmuto and Kyle Schwarber cards?
I do feel like this could have been a good idea if they had some sort of game plan for it.
However, if it stays as is, I'm out next year. -
@Rocketfish5151 I want it gone I want to grind the game not grind the game 3 to 4 times
