I agree that a perfect-perfect should not be an automatic hit but, I share the frustration with OP. When you hit a ball over 100 mph your average in theory goes up. Lately playing this game it feels like I’m hitting more in the ball park of .100 on those exit velo’s. Now maybe it’s just ebbs and flows but a perfect perfect should be a hit at least half the time.
If your launch angle or the area in which the ball is hit in ballpark (where a fielder isn't covering) isn't right with a ball hit over 100 mph, it isn't going to be a hit. Shorten the walls and remove the fielders and you'd be correct.
Those pesky fielders. 🤬
Edit: This reminds me of a Rivercats (SF AAA) game we went to a couple of years ago. Brandon Belt was in rehab and playing 1B. He was in the batter's box right in front of us, and I pointed out a gap to my wife in left-center because the LF was playing toward the line and the CF was shaded to RF. When Belt came up to bat, they didn't move. Belt hit a whopper right to the spot I pointed out. I thought the ball was long gone by the sound of it. Darned if that CF didn't make it to the spot and rob Belt of the HR.
Pesky fielders. LOL.
Haha nice. You almost called his shot. So lucky having the major league rehab assignment right there. Sucks that the Yard Goats, that’s the team local to me in Hartford, are affiliated with Colorado. Not getting any rehab assignment way out here like when they were affiliated with the Red Sox when I was a kid.
Ahhh, the good old days of Beehive Feild and New Britan Red Sox. Back in the 90's me an my friend used to go to alot of games.
One year, every time we would go they would were playing the Harrisburg Senators. Never forget heckling that poor 3rd baseman George Virgilio every single game. Made him so mad once he turned and started screaming at us. His next at bat? Bomb lol.
I loved Beehive Field. It’s still sitting back there. I’m not sure it’s in use anymore though. My cousin and I went all the time in the 80s. We got to see Oil Can Boyd make a rehab start there. So much fun and skinny Jeff Bagwell play third before being traded away for Larry Anderson.
Lol “OC Boyd” (btw my CP is named ‘Rusty Oil Can’) and “rehab” are two words that go so well together haha couldn’t resist.
ps I’ll never forget him running his soup cooler from the dugout in Game 6 when he thought they had it won….Zip It Dennis!
Let’s Go Mets Go!
I love that one. Rusty Oil Can in for the save!
It’s so worth it when the announcers say his name lol “…on the mound for the home team is Rusty Oil Can!” Haha

I should go though the audio file and find something create they say. Knowing me it’ll be inappropriate like this guy…

You know what's perfect perfect? A nice fresh loaf of sourdough just pulled from the oven. It smells perfect; it thumps perfect, and it's perfectly golden brown...wait - that's more than perfect perfect. Oh well...continue.

Seriously…why hasn’t digit smell transference been invented yet.

It kills (okay - not literally) me to have to wait 4 hours to cut into it. I love making sourdough bagels...those you can eat as soon as your tongue can withstand the heat...

Upvote!
I’ve been here since dad brought me here after retiring from the military when I was a teenager. I grew up in Europe so this is the only part of the country I lived in but I’ve been to Orlando and LA to go to Dodger Stadium. The best part of Connecticut is the shore. The old New England towns are the best. My girlfriend’s sister lives in Mystic. I love when we go there for any kind of family gathering.
