- Giancarlo Stanton: 122.2 mph on Aug. 9, 2021
- Giancarlo Stanton: 121.7 mph on Aug. 9, 2018
- Giancarlo Stanton: 121.3 mph on July 25, 2020
Cruz's hit was an out. I don't know about Stanton's hits. According to the CBS article, the hardest hit not by Cruz or Stanton is by Judge.

Cruz’s was a single to right field against the Braves in Pittsburgh

I love playing this game and losing 2-0 and getting back to back perfect perfects with Diamond players. The first one was a 98mph fly out to the wall, and then next one was a 114mph groundout to second base. I love this game so much, it brings me so much joy. It even made me break a headset
Realistically that's how baseball works. Happens to us all.

My mistake. I guess I was thinking about another one of his missiles. That man is amazing!

The Stanton hit from 2021 went for a doubleplay.

I agree completely. It is misleading.

I agree that a perfect-perfect should not be an automatic hit but, I share the frustration with OP. When you hit a ball over 100 mph your average in theory goes up. Lately playing this game it feels like I’m hitting more in the ball park of .100 on those exit velo’s. Now maybe it’s just ebbs and flows but a perfect perfect should be a hit at least half the time.

If your launch angle or the area in which the ball is hit in ballpark (where a fielder isn't covering) isn't right with a ball hit over 100 mph, it isn't going to be a hit. Shorten the walls and remove the fielders and you'd be correct.

Edit: This reminds me of a Rivercats (SF AAA) game we went to a couple of years ago. Brandon Belt was in rehab and playing 1B. He was on deck right in front of us, and I pointed out a gap to my wife in left-center because the LF was playing toward the line and the CF was shaded to RF. When Belt came up to bat, they didn't move. Belt hit a whopper right to the spot I pointed out. I thought the ball was long gone by the sound of it. Darned if that CF didn't make it to the spot and rob Belt of the HR.
Pesky fielders. LOL.

Haha nice. You almost called his shot. So lucky having the major league rehab assignment right there. Sucks that the Yard Goats, that’s the team local to me in Hartford, are affiliated with Colorado. Not getting any rehab assignment way out here like when they were affiliated with the Red Sox when I was a kid.

Ahhh, the good old days of Beehive Feild and New Britan Red Sox. Back in the 90's me an my friend used to go to alot of games.
One year, every time we would go they would were playing the Harrisburg Senators. Never forget heckling that poor 3rd baseman George Virgilio every single game. Made him so mad once he turned and started screaming at us. His next at bat? Bomb lol.

I loved Beehive Field. It’s still sitting back there. I’m not sure it’s in use anymore though. My cousin and I went all the time in the 80s. We got to see Oil Can Boyd make a rehab start there. So much fun and skinny Jeff Bagwell play third before being traded away for Larry Anderson.

I feel like this exactly illustrates my point. I’m well aware there are fielders and I simply said the amount of times I hit the ball over 100 mph only to have it be for naught is frustrating. The chart shows the batting average on balls hit over 102 mph is over .500. The same numbers of fielders are on the field for those hits (I’m assuming). So simply put if you hit the ball really hard more often than not, you will get a hit. The shows response to that? Hold my beer.
