Man - wish I could be there with @Texas10pt_MLBTS and @BxnnyMxn__MLBTS ...
They could do my showdowns and moments that I'm struggling with...not to mention the beautiful scenery there.I absolutely love the Smokies. We booked a cabin for this year's stay in Gatlinburg. All the other times have been in Pigeon Forge. Probably take a ride over the mountain to Cherokee, N.C. and see if the Elk are out in the field.
This all sounds like fun. The smokers that is. I love these stage programs but only when we get to use cards I enjoy. I wonder when they’d expand the program. I assume the Postseason will have its own program. I remember there was a lot of speculation about the fake 99 Griffey program last year because of the progress bar showing less it wasn’t complete. It never amounted to anything so who knows

It IS fun! I got it from both angles because I’m a smoker who lives in the Smokies! Haha

If I am adding this up correctly: doing the Moments, Missions, and Map but don't pull any of the Awards cards from the Pennant packs, then I only get 60 points. I need to pull a minimum of three different Awards cards from the Pennant packs to get the needed 85 points. The reason I am not including the Showdown (I know, I know, for some of you it is a walk in the park) is because I am horrible at them.
Sigh, I don't even know if I will begin this program.
I am being completely honest when I say that this showdown was really easy. Most of the rounds you are tied or maybe down 1. Only rounds you are down more are 1 is with the bases loaded and down by 3 and the final round where you are down by 3 with 20 outs. It went really quick for me last night, probably took me no more than 45 minutes total. There are quite a few lefty pitchers in the Showdown, so I went righty heavy with Stargell, Devers and Jackie Bradley Jr as my lefty hitters. If you decide to try it, good luck. On a side note, you get a ton of the Pennant Chase packs. Odds are you will pull at least 3 of the players.
Ima try that sucker then! This sounds like my kinda of showdown and I thank you for the heads up my friend
I gave this Showdown a try last night and actually got it the first time. Honestly, if I can get it (directional hitter and button pushing pitching and let CPU run and field guy), then you can absolutely get it done.
Some of the early ones were “sweaty” for me. The second one(?) is score a run in 8 outs. I remember that being almost a fail.
As the original poster said, most start with you tied. I forgot that and choose boosts that activated if I were losing That probably made it harder than it should have been.

My progress said 57% until it hit 100% with completing last mission.

Gird yourselves.
The Pennant Chase Program consists of 2 Stages. The Stage 1 Program maxes out at 85 Program Stars and does not carry over to Stage 2. Once Stage 2 has been unlocked, completing Stage 1 tasks will not grant Program Stars towards Stage 2 progression.
Half the player base will never read the quote above and come complaining when Stage 2 is released about why they're not being awarded program progress.
I read it but I still got no clue as to what it means lol
I’m with bunny here, I’m not following this at all.
Have they announced when Stage 2 is coming?
Do I need to stop playing in DD what I’m currently playing (TA3) and get started on this program?
Is this conquest map and showdown going away when Stage 2 comes out?
Will I be able to get Stage 1 cards when stage 2 comes out?
Will stage 2 give me enough stuff to do to complete both Stage 1 and Stage 2 progress?
In another thread, guys are talking about all these Pennant chase packs. Where are they coming from? Playing “something”? Buying them?
Feel free to talk to me like I’m 6 years old.
Stage 2 opens when you complete Stage 1 (get to 85 points), so it's already out. Anything you collect in Stage 1 you CAN NOT collect in Stage 2. So don't do all the collections in Stage 1 or you will be screwed for Stage 2. The conquest and showdown only apply to Stage 1 as Stage 2 has it own set of missions you need to accomplish. Anything you do for 1 does not count toward 2. You will get at least 20 packs from doing the program, showdown and conquests. You can buy the players too but I would wait until you opened all your packs. I already have 3 of the 5 and I am only at 40 points right now.
I just realized I did it wrong. SMDH. I did the collections (thinking I would save the moments for round 2). Just the 5 chase pack collections, but still. So I lost 15xp for this. I did my research on this program too, I thought I had it right.
So now I have to sell Trout and do the one collection for 16xp (as well as the stage 2 missions).. Oh well.

That sucks you have to sell Trout. Not sure the return is worth the loss of a card like Trout.

There is the repeatable you can use. I don't know that losing Trout is worth gaining whatever is in the last pack.

I hear you guys. But I'll flip a few cards and buy him back as soon as possible. He's still being bought and sold so I should be okay. I definitely don't want him to get to the point he did in 22. I never even got to use 22 Trout (I didn't start playing last year until like the last month of the season). I pulled both him and Elle from chase packs (was thrilled because my pack luck had been terrible for like 3 years lol)
Edit: Though after the junk I just pulled maybe it wasn't worth it lol

That repeatable would have taken significantly longer than just doing this so meh. Thanks for posting that excel, that's handy.

So Glaus, Schmidt, and Stargell don’t count as Pennant Race Program players? Only Wacha, Altuve, Bradley, and Fingers? Am I reading that correctly?
-
Hey fellers I’ve got two of these pennant packs to open and I’m wondering if it’s more beneficial for me to open them once I’m in stage 2 instead of 1? Maybe I’m confused (imagine THAT lol) but it seems like I’m picking up the vibe that it’s better to wait but it seems such an odd concept that I’m almost certain I’ve got it wrong here.
Help me out guys please?

I don't think it matters when you open them, you just don't want to add them all to the Stage 1 collection. You should save at least 2 if not 3 for the Stage 2 collection. You can't collect the same player in both stages. So collect 2 or 3 of the players in Stage 1 and then the remaining players in Stage 2.

Ahhhh ok I think I’m picking up what you’re putting down lol! So I can open them just don’t lock them into the collection until stage 2…except for a few of them. I don’t really get the logic, but perhaps it’s because I’m ignorant of how the different point schemes work and whatnot. Matter of fact that’s probably just about a certainty!
Thank you so very much @whiplash0013_MLBTS!! That’s very appreciated old buddy

In a nutshell, there are 5 players that can be collected in EITHER stage 1 or stage 2. If you collect a player in stage 1 you can't collect them in stage 2. For me the missions and ways to get points were easier in stage 1 compared to the missions in stage 2. So I only collected 2 of the 5 in Stage 1 and then collected the remaining 3 in Stage 2 which completes stage 2 since it's only 30 points. The first 85 points are part of Stage 1. These you can get via the Showdown, Conquest, Moments, Missions and both event and pack collections. Stage 2 only has collections and Missions to acquire 30 points.

Should I keep Trout/Elle or sell one of them to complete live series and get Jeter and Sosa?
I'm thinking I will sell Elle since he's set 3 and his value will probably dip quite a bit once we get closer to set 5. I'd hate to get rid of him now (he's friggin awesome), but I don't want to lose a bunch of stubs and I want to finally finish live series. What do you guys think? I know this isn't the right sub for this but I thought you guys could help because for some reason I can't make a topic about it.

Unless stubs are all you're looking for, then keep Elly for sure. I'm not sure which Trout you're speaking of, but if it's the Chase card Trout, I don't have it so I can't say anything about it.
If you're looking for the cards, well then, do you want Jeter or Sosa over Elly or Trout? Don't look at the set number if you're looking for a card to use. In S6, all the cards become active again.

And you can use Elly as your Wildcard in S5.
