A lot of us HATE the CPU grind. Remember when you had to play H2H to complete certain programs? The CPU only folks complained and complained until they changed it. What about us? If I want 98 McGwire, I HAVE to CPU grind. I can’t buy him on the market. Make these god forsaken, mandated CPU grinded cards sellable on the market. Please. I hate this shite.
I agree 100%!! Every card in this game should be sellable!! If I earned it or bought it, I should be able to do with it what I want to do with it Keep it, collect it, auction it, QS it. My choice!
Would make this game so so so much enjoyable.

First of all, it wasn't just CPU only folks complaining. A high percentage of players in this game are incredibly toxic and childish. Oh, you need X amount of online homeruns with Griffey to proceed? "It is high! It is far! It is..." DASHBOARDED. Yeah. That was fun...
If you hate the grind that much, buy all of the Great Race pack cards and lock them in. If I remember correctly, that gets you up to 95 points before you even play a game. I don't have the path in front of me, but the rest of the stat grinds which could be done online can probably get to the finish line, and if not you will be very close and can suck it up and complete a few moments.
If you don't want to buy the cards...then that's your choice.
I will agree that more cards should be sellable like previous years. Ex. Monthly awards last year.
-
Yeah I remember the dashboarding, Penn State. Not fun. Doesn’t negate my point, though. But thanks for the tip. If I can complete the program as you say I will certainly do that.
-
After 3 days grinding I went back to online play and completely suck
And the last 8/9 ranked games have been with leftie starters. Which I ain’t very good at facing. And 8/9 have been away.
If I didn’t have so many new cards to use I would have lost my motivation to play.
The TA east showdown took me 1.5 hours and 4 attempts.
The 98 one I got pretty easy.
Just be patient my guy. Veteran doesn’t mean everything is gonna be a moon shot
-
Thanks, but I’m never attempting a Showdown again. The potential for time waste is just too great. I probably have a 95% success rate ever since they introduced Showdowns, too. But bro, I was ENRAGED with frustration this morning. Even just a 5% chance of that happening again is too high. I’m not doing it to myself.

18 consecutive outs is impressive.

If showdowns eliminated entry fees and allowed you to continue from the fail point they would be a million times better. As it stands now the do or die is brutal and pushes most players away.

I completed program without doing showdown. I did all the moments, conquest map, stats etc then i bought Kerry Woods (worth every credit) to finish it. I didnt get lucky with my 98 pack . Ya might have to buy a 97 card or two also, cant remember

then what would be the point of it, it'd basically just be moments continued

Preach, brother, preach!!!
Just part of a long list of things I’d change in DD if I were in charge.

Considering you are a flawless player I’m sure showdowns are no problem for you. Congrats on being elite. Most players are casual and not elite so losing and having to start completely over on showdown sucks. So, no it would not be moments continued as you would still battle bosses and draft players along the way.

Showdown used to be like that, You use to be able to quit out except for boss missions. They have made show down so simple compared to when it first came out in 20. Being "casual"doesn't entitle you to easier things. Cod doesn't just hand out the gold camo's because it's hard, stop using "I'm not good enough" as a crutch.

The "CPU grind" used to be time consuming, but tolerable. Now, it is very annoying, along with being time consuming.
Even on Rookie, the CPU's defense is filled with acrobats, the batter's have a bionic eye, and the pitchers will throw 2-3 seemingly 60 mph curveballs out of the zone before dotting a 97mph FB on the black. SMH
Vet and AS are not as terrible as Rookie, and HOF plays best. However, you still have to pay close attention every at bat or so, or you will be repeating the game and wasting 20 min or so. I do not mind spending the time to earn cards, it is just unecessarily irritating at times.

For me it’s losing to the CPU. I truly don’t mind losing another person. I have no problem tipping my cap and saying another human being outplayed me. I’m still earning PXP, paralleling my players, working my way down the reward path, etc.
Losing a Showdown or a Moment; on so-called “Veteran,” is such a massive frustration, largely because I don’t have as much time to play as I used to (or in ‘20, when we were on lockdown). And I have to play those things in order to get cards that are good enough to compete in the game mode I actually want to play, which is Ranked.
I know, it’s a me problem. I need to get good. But honestly, I’m not that bad of a player. My Ranked record is about 90-55 or thereabouts. I don’t think there is any doubt that “Rookie” or “Veteran” settings are misleading, though, because the results of inputs vs CPU are so incredibly random (Conquest on Rookie one game is 17-0. The next is 1-0. My swings didn’t suddenly get worse) as to make the level pointless.

I’m not making excuses. Simply stating that showdown is unnecessarily annoying. Most players are casuals and not flawless goons. We play the game to relax and enjoy fantasyland baseball with juiced up stats. You obviously take it much more seriously and want to sweat it out and be challenged. To each their own but I don’t play games to be stressed out against the CPU. If I want to push myself in a game then I’d do it online in ranked or BR not against the CPU in showdown. Personally I prefer to push myself in real life at work, in the gym, or with my family. I play the game to chill out. If the game is “too easy” for the elite players then maybe it’s time to challenge themselves in something that actually matters outside of a trivial game.

Don’t knock yourself for losing to the CPU. One could argue beating a well programmed computer is more impressive than defeating some of the idiots walking around on the planet these days. Have you looked as social media these days?
Also, them putting these things on Veteran is oftentimes an issue if prefer playing other people. That level is low for someone like you and the pitches don’t act the same and then Kerry Wood maxed out on his confidence you had no chance with the huge difference is his higher velocity pitches and lower velocity pitches.

Definitely. Some humans are easier to beat than others. Haha. I’m just saying, on Veteran? With three active perks on every swing? That’s a programming problem IMO.

If the cards were sellable what on earth would the flawless and WS clowns do to get stubs? Whole sellable thing is because some streamers could only make 100k instead of 250k for their flawless and WS awards.
Too many games listening to streamers. Streamers DO NOT help your game as much as you think. Majority (notice I did not say all) are scum and scam artists.

Yea, I can only do this on HOF against 120 mph wiffle ball pitchers or legend which is worse.

Poor wording. There was a hit and a walk mixed in there, followed by double plays.
More importantly, there were some perfects and darn-near perfects that resulted in east outs. So I didn’t make 18 consecutive outs, but did make 18 outs before I could score a single run.
