When do you stop playing for the year

I saw something today that season 5 goes from like November-January and was wondering if anyone still plays during the winter. I usually last to October then call it quits until next year.

Really? So instead of making the programs shorter SDS is going to make them longer, if this is the case i may give set 5 a look and then quit for something else until set 6 comes out. I can see people being really burnt out by the end of set 5 if they keep playing.

I normally do that but this year just feels diffrent, i might feel like staying if A. Content was more frequent or B. I could use all of my cards, not being able to use certain cards in November/December etc makes no sense to me i mean who really cares at that point.

When it feels more like a chore than a game. It's been teetering on that edge for months now but so far I've kept playing. I think if set 4 TA is all 97s again (including many repeats of cards I already have) that'll be enough to call it quits.

My window usually matches up pretty much with the real baseball season. By the end of the playoffs/world series I am usually winding down and take a break until the next season.

For the last few years, I have played this game the entire calendar year, until the new game comes out.
There was a time when I would play COD and/or Madden in the Fall, and then get back on MLBTS in Jan. or so... But like EA's Madden, COD is a dumpster fire (especially with its SBMM) and is not fun at all.
If this game continues with its expiring cards format, then I may try something else to spend my time and money on going forward.

By the time the holidays are over (I take those breaks to be with family), most of the hardcore players have moved on to something else. It's a good time for me to hop online and get rewind packs for those cards I couldn't get during the year. That helps me get cards to finish collections and then use those cards too. I still have a lot of the Negro League content to get through, which I will probably get to during the winter.
Over the past few years, by the time I'm done with all of that, the test tech is out and I'm ready to move on to the new version.

I normally play until the next edition comes out but after todays Set 4 leak. I may be done tomorrow. Quite honestly Snapshot Series is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen. It must be those new content people they hired ruining the game.

Worse than the Kaiju series? Maybe they'll have fields where there are paparazzi all over the place that you have to run around? Off the field swagger...pfffft. But, I still think Kaiju was worse.

I've said it before they need non-baseball related series to justify giving whoever they want whatever ratings they want.
To answer the question at hand it depends on the year. In 2018 it was in May. Last year it was sometime after the World Series. This year it may be Thursday.

Late December, early January for me. I like to have an off-season from sports games.
I got a free ambulance from GT7 yesterday, and immediately thought to run it on Nurburgring! It in turn made me try 2 other faster cars there, to master that incredible course, which made me want to continue my F1 career, so I'm on 'break' until Thursday. NHL will be out soon as well, but I usually stick around close to February.
I did play a 9 inning vs. CPU game to capitalize on the end of double XP today. Got a spin to get another Silver Duo's pack! -
2 weeks ago. Earliest ever. Used to play until end of Nov and sometimes into Dec.

Honestly I stopped after Extreme and without meaningful improvements next year I may give this series the Madden treatment and just quit entirely

I play usually until the next game comes out. I may not play next years game because honestly I wont have time. Finishing school, starting a new job, getting married, buying a house. I don't think I could casually play the game a couple hours a week. I started playing a couple years ago when it was released on GamePass. First time ever playing online in a sports game and its been fun to see how far Ive come as a player on this game. Being 40 and still being able to get to World Series is satisfying. When there isn't really any content being released in January and February I still have a ton of fun trying new cards that I would have never used and sometimes finding hidden gems.
