Here is my issue with how sets and seasons has been implemented so far (Theme Teams)

So, I kind of posted this in another thread (About Berkman) but I thought I would reiterate it here in a more readable format. And let me state here what I did there, I am NOT complaining that the Cardinals don't get enough cards. They get more than most teams (and less than few).
My issue is the way or the order in which they are releasing these cards. When you look at all the Cardinal players I have or will, in another two weeks, have to use the lesser versions of it is disheartening.
The team peaked in season 2 and won't be that good again until season 6 (maybe January)
For the Cardinals
- There were five 99 overalls in Season 1.
- There were two 99 overalls in Season 2.
- There have been zero 99 overalls in Season 3.
So in Season 3 I am already using lesser versions of all of these players
- Ozzie Smith
- Jim Edmonds
- Jordan Walker
- Bob Gibson
- Paul Goldschmidt
- Tommy Edman
- Adam Wainwright
- Tyler O'Neill
Starting in Season 4 I will have to revert to lesser versions of these players. Many of these back to their live versions.
- Stan Musial
- Lars Nootbaar
- Lou Brock
- Ryan Helsley
- Miles Mikolas
- Dylan Carlson
- Paul Dejong
- Jack Flaherty
- Wilson Contreras
- Mark McGwire
- Paul Goldshmidt (who will fall back to his live series although I wonder if he will be the hitting captain to replace McGwire in the next TA)
Starting season 4 these are the Cardinal players with their best versions still available.
- Nolan Arenado (97)
- Ryan Ludwick (97)
- Steven Matz (95)
- Giovanny Galleggos (95)
- Alex Reyes (94)
- Masyn Winn (90)
- Matt Holliday (90)
That group and those ratings don't really inspire confidence does it?
So again, it is not that they have not released enough Cardinals but is instead about the theme team getting worse the deeper into the year we get.

I think the also need to find a way to code it so that players who played for certain teams count for every team they played on, some teams have no shot of having a decent team or bullpen, while others have a plethora. They also need to figure out if player has a captain card and a better overall, it shouldn’t be punishment to use the captain.

Yup same with the Phillies. Nothing like grinding for shittier cards.
Combined that with no sell on events and programs it's really [censored]

All Captains should be core and any card used with an active Captain, should be eligibe for any season. They have stated that they want us to use Captains more but their imposed restrictions, along with poor Captain card attributes, say otherwise.

Yes, Core captains. And, by all means, take away all negative attributes.
They are supposedly Captains. They ADD to the team. Not take away.

I see your point , it makes it difficult to compete vs teams who only use all 99s . I also agree that captains should not have negative attributes. I hope sds sees this post and fixes it.

I’m about to lose 3/5 starting pitchers and will probably have to use either an 88 or 89 overall at SS.
It really just depends how TA4 goes. But my team is getting gradually worse. It is one of the worst ideas I’ve seen in any game I play.

I'm sure sds will evaluate this and take everyone's opinion for next year .Theme teams are already weaker than pure god squads and god squads are guaranteed have more god squad players released. Not really a comparison.
People who aren’t using TTs don’t drop from 97 OVR starters down to golds…

I'm sure sds will evaluate this and take everyone's opinion for next year .Not really, geno plays with an all rockie squad. He is already using an inferior team than most of his opponents, in my case I’m losing only one bench bat and one starting pitcher. Bullpen probably 3 or 4 guys.

Ok, yes if your using a specific team , yes you're at a disadvantage. While your opponent will use all 99s .

Thankfully, winning an online RS H2H game is not only way for me to enjoy this game. Your point is not about "winning". ...A lot of us would enjoy using a specific theme team, but we are not able to due to the current restrictions being enforced. The expiring card format is ridiculous.

I think you mean a really good player could win with just commons.

It all matters. Here is two big theme team examples. Mike Piazza and Nolan Arenando. Giving players the ability to play on any team they played for makes it so you’re not at the mercy of SDS whether Piazza is a dodger or met (or marlin lol) or if Arenando is a Rockie or Cardinal. Goose becomes a very important because he played on like 10 teams. And that allows for a top tier righty on all those teams.
