This is how my I know the LS ratings are mostly made up. I’m sure someone will jump in and say-

    1. 3 year average!!!! - He has never played 130 games in a season and his second best total is 60.
    2. They don’t mess with injured players. - maybe that’s true but it’s a rule they made up.
    3. There’s an algorithm- are you really telling me his 0.8 WAR this year and 5.6 career WAR passes that test?

He’s the cover boy! Thus he will be a Diamond all season. They are dying on that hill.

I don’t actually care but I can’t sleep and I’m playing the Marlins and was shocked to see he was still Diamond.

Ok feel free to tell me why I’m wrong haha.

You’re absolutely correct. I wonder if there’s a provision in the contract when signing as the games cover athlete that no matter how bad you suck it up you still get to be on top. I know with my luck and if I were Jazz I’d be the only player to ever have his cover status revoked mid season by someone else lol

It's a travesty that Jazz is still a diamond. The only explanation is that they don't want to downgrade their cover boy, a cover boy that many of us said was undeserving.

Let's be real Jeter was the real cover guy this year no disrespect to Jazz but Jeter was the guy that was going to generate sales not him

Javier Baez proved that they will never downgrade the cover athlete from a Diamond. He had a worse year than Jazz is having, but never got downgraded.

I mean, yes he is, but they’ve sort of leaned into Jeter and the deluxe cover more. The Incognito series is a total play on the Jeter cover, the Captain cards. They obviously are ride or die with Jazz, not much you can do mid season when your cover boy is not playing well.

That’s why a guy who had one decent ore all star stretch before getting hurt shouldn’t be the cover athlete.

Next year it should be one of the following in my humble and unsolicited opinion-

    Ronald Acuna Jr.
Mookie Betts (How has this not happened)
    JoRam replete with 🥊.
    Kyle Tucker
    Nolan Arenado
    Juan Soto
    Freddie Freeman

There are many others of course.

Yeah because which ballplayer would want to grow their brand and name recognition by accepting the honor of being on the cover of the only video game available in your sport? Oh wait, literally everyone. Except for Barry Bonds but that was for other reasons.

Actually baseball players are pretty superstitious, lots of them turn it down, do you really think Jazz was their 1st pick?

If so, I feel a little bad for you.

Jazz being the 1st pick makes total sense, you're so right and never wrong, sorry I doubted your intelligence, you must be a god.

For those of you that actually have intelligence, it's like going to the bar to pick up on Women or Men, you might try with 10 people before 1 actually shows you interest, so are you going to talk about the 10 that turned you down or the 1 that accepted you?

SDS is definitely not going to talk about being turned down because it does not help them at all, so they celebrate the one that does accept the cover.

It's simple logic and common sense.

Translation; I need to use much rhetoric because I'm talking out of my as$ without any factual knowledge and 100% based on my personal intuition.

I’d imagine companies have a clause in cover athlete contracts which prohibits one person from being on multiple covers in the same year.

Imagine in the old days you’re a parent shopping for your kid and don’t know games too well. You want to buy The Show with (example) Joe Mauer on the cover. Instead you buy MLB2K with Joe Mauer on the cover. Oops.

I guess closest to todays era would be Jazz on The Show and RBI. Could be easy mix ups.
