It would be great to see Ohtani in the playoffs, i have a feeling he would turn his game to another level, which is a scary thought. Given a chance i think the Angels can make a deep run. At the beginning of the year i predicted Ohtani would stay put and then sign a contract extension with the Angels.
Will see if the later part of that prediction stands up but your quite right you do not trade this level of talent for anything.

Looking at him joking with his teammates during the games, you can see he enjoys his team. We don't know what's going to happen behind close doors, but going into the unknown is harder if he has a chance to win in Anaheim.

I don't think they decided to take him off the market.
I think the offers they got weren't close to what they wanted,and when they told what they wanted,everyone hung up the phone.
multiple MLB top 100,or 3-4 top 10 prospects ,or multiple major leaguers ,or a combination thereof.
I doubt any team would pay close to that unless they had it guaranteed of an extension -
Interested to see if they make anymore moves before deadline, they said they are buyers. They need a SP for sure. I like detmers, canning can go to the bullpen or be dealt. Not an Angels fan btw, just baseball in general. If they make another big move I might put a sprinkle on them to win ws at 100-1.
