Season 2 has SUCKED. Incognito and Kaiju are terrible, just cringe. Also just new ways to repackage the same old players.
I've defended SDS a lot over the past couple of years for their balance approach to DD, but Grind 97, Buy 99 is for real this year. Add to that the STUPID "other programs" that "reward" you with 90-95 cards...just plain stupid. They can't even integrate captains in a meaningful way because the boosts can't compete with buy-only pack cards.
What a lost year.
But I'll probably still check out the grind today, lol...

Set/Season 2 was indeed awful. There were large gaps in any content released (no, packs are not content and never will be) and when they did release a program it was the exact same snorefest the previous programs were, just with a different name. The only exception this year has been POTM, which appears immune to the virus (Grind 97, Buy 99) infecting the rest of the game.
I've probably said this ad nauseam, but I just cannot understand people defending the expiring cards. For instance, 99 Trea Turner was in the game from day one (though not obtainable immediately since it required ~100 cards to collect). Today that card is phased out unless it's someone's wildcard and is being replaced with a 97 ASG card. 3 1/2 months in and being replaced by a lower overall card. They've not only stopped any sense of progression, they're making it feel like we're going backwards.
How does that make sense?

It's actually like a new release day. There HAVE to be real 99's to get early on, and I assume there will be.
But what few are talking about is that there will be so many reissues of set 1 cards that are expiring. There have to be. Let me grind for another 99 Trout...no thanks.
I doubt that anything in Season 3 will pull me back in after the trainwreck that was season 2.
And if Incognito and Kaiju are still around, f that. I'm done. What stupid, cringe ideas...

Anybody who didn't comprehend that this was going to happen, new cards for expiring players was just fooling themselves.

Making ANY cards ineligible is the absolute dumbest thing you could do. "Keep it fresh"? Give me a break. People grind and spend their time playing your game and you're gonna tell them "hey good job but you can't REALLY use a whole bunch of them anymore."? Honestly, I've seen SDS do some stupid things in the past decade or so but this is up there. Like top 1 or 2 dumbest decisions.
preach it mate - absolutely agree !!! it has killed my interest in playing the game this year - ill still peep in the odd RS or events but this year is the least amount of play time since 2016
