I have played this game pretty much to "completion" (every card in the game) for the past several years. Here is why I quit before Memorial Day (and am done for the year): I COULDN'T KEEP UP. Everything felt like a time crunch. Always stressing to finish this or finish that. The thought of then completing that grind and repeating that stress through multiple seasons led me to look at this game as more of a job than a release...and I would prefer for my downtime to be spent decompressing rather than stressing. Add to this the fact that the best cards are locked behind packs and expensive on the open market and I realized quite quickly that I wasn't going to "complete" this game...so I quit. I think the game play is fine for the most part, but SDS has succeeded in creating a job that you don't get paid for and can never complete. No thanks!

Very well said! I was in a very similar situation. I decided to pick just a few things I do…RS, BR and TN/POTM. It was hard for me to break that mentality of having to do everything but I finally got there and it has been so much more enjoyable. There is no question that they created a game this year designed to keep people playing all the time. I really can’t imagine completing all of these programs. Even if I completed half of them, I would never get to use the cards I actually wanted to use.

This game died after the allstar content last year. The game has regressed from its release and SDS does care because they made their money.

Yea, game sucks. I would rather re-watch a 20 year old tv show than play people with their connections. Just isn't fun.
I despise offline play as it is very boring but it is better than the online play.

I started right at the end of S1 and haven't done WBC program so no Lindor for me.
I got Baty from the FS choice pack and picked up Alvarez for 65K on market. I play enough classic mini seasons to not be concerned over the set restrictionsThe Mets are losing some key pieces (McNeil, Baty, Alvarez, Nimmo) but at least have gotten set 2 love (Wright, Mauricio, Hernandez, Escobar, Canha) so fielding a team early in set 3 shouldnt be too bad. probably in a better place than a lot of other teams.

Yes I fall victim to it as well but my god man, find something else do spend your time on if you are not happy or stop buying a product you KNOW doesn't have ping based matchmaking.

I’ll say this though - If they go forward with rendering all set 1 cards useless except for the one WC spot then I’m out. There are several games coming out in July & August that I’m interested in & if SDS seriously is going to take away my cards & then expect me to grind again for the same player like some kind of hamster on a wheel - F that.
They were very clear about this before launch, I don’t know how you guys missed all this info.

I show 130 hours in DD so far.
You show over 200
I am sure there are some out there with 400 or 500 (or more)Somebody is always going to feel like it requires too much time whatever SDS decides, while others will complain that there is not enough content to keep them busy.
I feel kind of lucky that I realized early on in my DD playing that I was not devoted enough to go for completion. Once I became okay with that then there was much less stress to "keep up". It also helps being an offline player because I don't have to chase a meta lineup.
I look at programs now and view the rewards and usually wind up saying to myself, I don' t need those cards. If I earn them then great but if I don't then that is fine too. My only goal every year has been to field the best Cardinals theme team that I could. If, for example, the June POTM cards does not have any Cardinals (which seems likely) then I most likely won't even attempt to complete it. I'll do the moments because I actually enjoy those but won't bother with the PXP grinds (which is my least favorite part of DD)

Important points. I don't think SDS expects us to do everything. They probably feel its better to have the content than not.
I also personally like the PxP missions because I like playing with players I wouldn't otherwise. I wish it was easier to track though (if only they would highlight cards that had outstanding PxP missions). And give the captains early for these programs. At least let us enjoy the boost while grinding, while seeing the cards get better as we add more players, not waiting until we go from no boost straight to tier 3.
Its a balancing line to please as many as possible, while also pleasing the higher ups that expect a sweet bottom line like EA gets.

For the casual player once set 3 begins their interest in the the game will be over because their set one cards are no longer usable on-line (except in the wild card spot) and the idea of starting over will not appeal to them. For the hard core fans it doesn't really matter what SDS does as long as they push out content.
I mostly agree but a lot of casual players don’t play online. I’m a dedicated player and I’d rather swim with open wounds in a sea of vinegar than play this game online. I think most casuals that play offline will hardly notice.
But I do agree, casual online players will be gone

I didn’t miss it. I was making posts on here in march about being concerned with this change. I haven’t gone back to look at those posts but it seemed like I was one of the few who thought this would be a problem.
People kept saying “SDS has a good plan for this, relax”. Clearly they didn’t. Now im sure some of those same people are complaining about it now. Hopefully this is a wake up call for people to stop thinking SDS is this genius ultimate team guru and stop supporting everything they do.

Yes, you have been very vocal about this and I remember I was one of those that said to you SDS must have a well thought plan, I still have some faith left but it bothers me that the free cards they are pushing out now are basically garbage compared to the free cards from Set 1 and that will impact the quality of my team for sure.
I believe they are somehow regretting releasing end game carda early and trying to nerf the attributes across the board

no, it wont. most the playerbase will be gearing up for madden.....SDS dropped the ball on this game this year.....hopefully next year they go back to being what they used to be. more like SDS less like madden/2k
