I just want to throw my 2 cents in because I play the game almost 10 hours while my girlfriend is at work and never had an issue like you described. I also have to add I’m an early retiree who doesn’t like the outside not a degenerate who plays games all day.
Not sure if that last part was an attempt at an insult or what but thanks for the info I guess lol. I work most of the week so typically I CAN'T play games all day unless it's a day off. Though I do play a lot when I'm able.
-
Huh lol wtf is this

Not directed at you at all. Didn’t want to sound like one of those dudes who dwells in the basement playing games all day long while his girlfriend does all the working.
I never addressed your real concern. If mine was heating up like that for just this game my first thought is delete the game and reinstall the game. Other than that I would just wonder what kind of entertainment center you have it in. Mine is enclosed however I open the door so it’s well ventilated while I’m playing and as you know from before it’s on half the day without issue.

I heard someone say once that it overheats when you play too much DD, it cools down if you play Franchise
Huh, so maybe it's not just my console. I have played several other PS5 games and while it does get hot, it's never had the fan blow that fast and given me a warning until this game
I think that might be his idea of a joke. He only plays Franchise and doesn't care for DD.
On the other side, I play TS23, Diablo 4, and Hogwarts all day everyday. (Major spinal surgery) I have an after market fan my PS5 sits on and clean it with canned air once a week and have never had any issues.

yes mate whatever OP has as a problem here its based on either a dirty floor or cramped air ventilation
cleanliness is next to godliness when it comes to tech in general

A cool room for me as well. When I retired my home office became the place I play games. I set that room a little colder than the rest of the rooms. I got my PS5 at launch but seeing how much of a pain it was to get after that I treated it with kid gloves. Figured the server room at my business was kept cold let me keep this room a little colder as well.

I have played this game for 8 years and I will say that I don't play any other games as much as I play this one, but this year my ps5 runs a lot hotter, to the point i worried about long-term damage. So I disassembled and cleaned and made sure the routing of air was unobstructed. I don't know why but my fan runs really high as well and I can just feel loads of heat coming out of the back of my PS5. Your ps5 may not be moving air like it should. Can you actually feel the hot air being pushed out of it? If not, maybe that's where you should go and somebody's probably already answered you, but I'm putting my two cents

Yeah I mean I can feel the hot air coming out. I've played games like Diablo 4 and EA Sports PGA Tour and still haven't had the fan issue or the warning that it's getting hot. Both are pretty graphics heavy games and I can play well beyond 2 hours with no issues.

Bought my ps5 when mlb launched this year and it never makes a sound. No buzz, no fan, nothing. Might need to check yours out.

If you feel loads of heat coming out that is a good thing. That means it's doing its job. Just make sure that hot air has a place to go.

absolutely mate and you are correct - cold is great for electronics but heat / humidity is awful

i hate double negatives
so you agree with me. right on mate - we are here only to help you - im sure once you give a good cleaning + air circulation / not in the sun etc. you will be all good to go - have a great day

I have had my PS5 January 2021 and I have never seen an overheat message. I have only air can blown the thing maybe twice since I got it. Always have had it laying on it's side. Never hear a sound either. With PS4 though this happened all the time and I think it was because the heat resistance portion melted away.

So I bought this a few days ago, hadn't experienced anything since and I've played a LOT of current gen exclusives that aren't even available on a PS4 yet this is the only game I've had this issue with.
After only like 2 hours of play the fan starts speeding up and a couple minutes after I get an on screen display saying your PS5 is getting too hot. Turn it off.
Anyone else experiencing this? Again it's the only game that's done this and it's usually after like 2 hours.
It's real frustrating cus I can't tell if it's a console issue or a game issue.
I have not experienced this at all. Where do you have your PS5 positioned? Is it out in the open or it it on a shelf in an entertainment center inside of a compartment of some sort? I know I have my PS5 sitting just outside of my entertainment center and have never gotten that message... if the PS5 is in a confined space, try moving it to an open area.

It's in a pretty open space. I dusted off the entertainment center I had it sitting on top of, blew the vents out with an air can, and have a fan in my room opposite side the entertainment center. A good solid 10-12 feet from the console.

do you have disc or digital and is The Show disc or digital? Yeah that does seem odd that The Show would be the only game to cause that... do you play the show longer stretches than other games?

I have a digital PS5 so yeah it's mainly the digital version that I play.
-
I play other games typically longer than 2 hours which is generally how long MLB 23 The Show would last before getting to the point where the fan would speed up and show the on screen warning so to answer your question, no I don't play it long in comparison to the others cus I can't. I can play other games for as long as I want without issue.
Update: I took it in to the shop to have a cleaning for around 50 bucks cus I didn't feel comfortable unscrewing everything on my own and after cleaning it out they said it didn't seem very dirty at all when they initially cleaned it but I brought it back and sure enough that indeed fixed the described issues, though it still gets fairly hot while playing The Show.
I feel a lot more comfortable now though. Still strange that I experienced this with only that game however.
