Idea to get more action in Ranked?

There is a lot of content and game modes to play. I dont care about my record, the only reason for to play ranked is to finish the program which takes a week or so depend how much you play. There's a lot of grinding with events and team affinity. Ranked is for people who wants see their name in the scoreboard and world series players. I finish the program and dont play until the next season or I need XP if i done with events

I'd like them to disable sound effects when you're the visiting team. There is no reason I have to listen to a gerbil talking just because I struck out. And I doubt the local team is going to be celebrating every little thing the opposing team does in a positive way. It's just so dumb. I hate having to mute my tv just to keep my sanity sometimes. I play a lot of RS and I get my [censored] kicked a fair amount of time. I don't really mind losing but if my opponent plays some stupid quote from a kids movie every time he launches a homer in his high elevation short fence obination of a stadium I am going to quit. Let us disable sound effects, created stadiums, and caps if we want to.

100% agree

OP has some solid points. I care about my record. I play this game purely to fantasize that I’m a manager of a dream team. It would be hard to immerse myself while conquering imaginary baseball territories with a subpar record.

A lot of people avoid Ranked because they are protective of their record. People play BR and Events more because their record in those modes aren’t permanently displayed.
Some people don’t want others to see a less than stellar record. Call it a fragile ego or whatever you want, but it prevents people from playing ranked.
What if displaying your and your opponents record was a settings option? I know that some people WANT to see their opponent’s record, and don’t mind if theirs is displayed.
So why not make it a setting? Something like: “Display Records.” If both players have it on, you get to see your opponents record and they get to see yours. If one player has it off, no one gets to see.
I’m just spitballing here so if I have blind spot let me know. What do you all think?
The sweats that care about their record are all in the 950+’s, the issue outside of the RNG, is the useless grind, if you’re a casual player you’re not making 900+ therefore your SET reward is unsellable, which means come July and the months following it that reward is literally useless to you. You can collect it for another unsellable useless card and then you can wait for them to release the exact same card in the next set or you can just not waste your time with online play at all and use the cards you spent hour’s mindlessly grinding in mini season’s or conquest.

I guess I'd just say if it's mindless for you, you aren't having fun. There are thousands of PS games out there, and 3 or 4 Xbox games depending on your console. Go play something else, no worries man.

No, it’s mindless for anyone with critical thinking skills, ya’ll got 2ked and your ignorance and SDS Stockholm syndrome have taken over. Enjoy grinding 82 moments for a head start on a monthly award you cant use in October, but guess what? all those cards you refused to see sunlight for…they are all going to be in chase packs with new card art, just waiting for you to buy up so you can play ranked.

lol dude you sound absolutely angry - like a very angry dude on the internet hypothesizing over things which mean nothing - there are plenty of us who are very relaxed, enjoy this game, and don't need to put on tin foil hats because of X problem or X problem - learn to enjoy what you have, and frankly - if you despise the game so much why are you on here all the time in this forum? if i hate cheese, i am not going to be a part of the Cheese Members Guild - do you know what i am saying?

I haven’t been on here in a month, so all the time? Bit of a stretch, don’t want to accept the downward spiral of this game?…that’s fine, just don’t tell me this is a great game because it is not. That’s not a tin foil hat response and not a single one of my posts have been anywhere near that. Enjoy grinding for nothing but don’t ever tell me this is a good game, EA and 2K are micro transaction heavy but at least they don’t try to hide it.

ok so i haven't kept track of when you last posted - i just remember seeing you post quite often over the years - what i find ridiculous is how you think in absolute terms - firstly i completely disagree with you - this game is better than 2020-2021/2022 no question - 2018 was a joke by comparison
and i am never grinding in this game - this is the biggest problem with guys like you - you spend half your waking life playing videogames crying about why its not perfect or why it sucks -
can you and i be honest for a second here and be real - how many hours of gaming do you play per week or per month on average? roughly mate?
for me - i am around playing for say 2-3 hours a week at most
this determines a lot of your frustrations - i have a feeling you play a lot more than me to harbour this kind of rage over a [censored] videogame

I am surprised nobody has brought up the 'timeout' issue yet in this thread. Whether it is being penalized for having a internet connection loss or for quitting when you realize that you are clearly overmatched (or playing a cheeser who is just too obnoxious to deal with), this well-intended change to the game has turned out to be the epitome of 'unintended consequences'. I am still on The Show '22, so I have no personal experience with it, but what I have read on this forum makes it seem like a total fecal show. I WILL NOT ever buy another newer version of this game if they do not rescind this rule which has turned out to be a cure worse than the original ailment.

The cooldown isn't for quitting. It is for dashboarding or turning off system. It really only negatively impacts freeze offs which occur in co-op most often. Dashboarders deserve it so most of us are fine with it.

OK thabnks for the clarification. I am still hesitent about the 'seasons' based player availability - but maybe just an incentive to try different players - once they mark it down to $15-20 I will likely give it a go.

I enjoy playing baseball games, I've been playing them since the 80's. I don't buy cards or play much online, I enjoy playing baseball.
Maybe you enjoy a different type of game, that's fantastic too! Find what you enjoy playing, and enjoy friend.
I am pretty certain I have a higher level of education than you do, so maybe I'm the wrong person to claim doesn't have critical thinking skills. No need for insults or weird assumptions, if you don't enjoy the game, move on with your life.

absolutely mate - that guy didn't even bother in replying back to me too - whenever people get confronted with reality they just duck away on the internet
the weird thing is that neither you or i are being hostile - yet his replies are super angry and come off rude / ignorant / childish

I could not care less about my record. I played a good amount of ranked in the first season and enjoyed it, but the changes for the second season have made it to where the rewards are no longer worth playing it for less competitive players. I don’t even care that they made the cards no sell, but they made the grind for no sell cards too much. What’s more important? Appeasing a handful of streamers or getting more people to play the mode?
