My agent has forsaken me...
-
I was drafted (randomly) by the Rockies as a SS. I decided to play it through, even with Trevor Storey ahead of me. The Rockies made me switch to CF for a while, then wanted to keep me there. I said I wanted to go back to SS. I thought... what the heck... I keep getting called up halfway through AA. Let's see if I can stay in the minors a while.
I'm finishing up my 2nd year, all in AAA. My agent hasn't checked in once, to see if I'm happy, want to switch positions, or to ask if I'd like a trade.
They need a "Scott Boras" perk in here. I'm sure he'd get me something. I guess he's not going to waste his time on a 17th round pick, though.

Postscript - now in 2022, signed a deal for a 1-year starter for the Rockies for $600k. Trevor signed a 5 year deal with the Dodgers for $125m. The Rockies are getting the deal of the century. And my agent is horrible.

What’s your overall?

Right now, at the beginning of 2022, 85. Story was a 92.

Major League Teams get to cost-control their talent for cheap. It offsets all the costs for all the failed prospects who never make it to the major league level. Since there's a discussion about minor league pay raises, that'll start preventing teams from taking random chances on indie leaguers, tryout winners, etc. If rookies were paid, say, $125 million, they'd just let the underperforming teams develop rookies, then swoop in during free agency once they see who actually sticks.

Good point - I get that. Which is why my 2022 Rockies were able to sign Conforto, Syndergaard, several other great players and were able to keep Arenado. If we don't win the WS this year...

When they introduced the agent into this game they did a half [censored] job. He only contacts you about half way through the season and once in the off season. You can not call him, As I have said before "hey SDS cell phones do work on out going calls, duh"
