The content team has been carrying this company on their backs for a long time. Some may say they took a step back this year but they are still the best in business. It’s a shame they produce good product while the gameplay crew fixes nothing. I don’t want to sound extreme but that gameplay team is one of the worst out there. This game is very flawed with a ton of bugs and choppiness, the list goes on. How have they not put out a meaningful gameplay update yet?

There is no competitor bro. Until there is, I wouldn’t expect anything different.

In my opinion, this is the worst year for content in a while. Putting aside the ridiculous nickname thing, everything just feels haphazard. There is not a flow that makes sense. Too many new series and sets and seasons are happening and it’s all just blurring into white noise. The release schedule is nuts, and they bit off more than they could chew with all these new types of cards. Captain, charisma, kaiju, incognito. They need to do one thing well rather than overwhelm us with a ton of stuff that has no connective tissue and feels like a cornucopia of madness.

    That’s right. A cornucopia.

Bring back the Innings Program model. Get rid of expiring cards. Ditch the “seasons” idea. Have a logical progression of OVR so cards aren’t outmoded before they drop. Reduce the number of card types. Release the Storylines gradually throughout the year rather than all at launch. Make the LS collection rewards usable for more than a day. There is so much more, but basically I think they need to turn back the clock to 2019, which was the best year for content in recent memory (again, just in my own opinion).

But seriously… these nicknames are insane.

Content this year is underwhelming. It's quantity and quirkiness over quality and planning. Programs that throw 90's at you when there are already dozens of 99's...ridiculous. The mind-numbing grind of TA2...ridiculous. The continued dependence on moments and showdowns...[censored] that.

DD has become a season of Lost. What's around the corner? What plot-twist lurks ahead??? In DD, it's all about collecting [censored] cards so you can be prepared for the collection down the line. Ooooh, the suspense.

I'm done with it. Perhaps literally.

Imo the collections this year are 100 times better… I like that I can choose who I want and I can collect any cards not for vouchers where some series I don’t have enough cards but others I have 25 extras from what I need now it’s total cards which is a major plus

Your line about it becoming a season of Lost is brilliant. Well played and NAILED it.

I agree, though I do applaud them for taking risks, but that's why it's a risk, because it's not guaranteed to work

Bring back the Innings Program model.

For years people were saying get rid of innings and bring back the XP reward path. They did that this year and people are now saying bring back innings programs.

Without any commentary on which system I like best it seems like they did their best to do both this year. We have the XP and we have the many more Program Points style programs than last year.

As for seasons, I am still extremely wary of it and expiring cards, but let's face it, if this method earns Sony and SDS more money in Stub sales then it wil probably keep coming back.

"...they did their best to do both this year."

SDS is trying to please everyone, and we know how that goes.

As a primarily single-player DD grinder, I get access to all or most of the best cards for free. BUT the grind to get them is life-replacing.

No thanks. In 3 years playing DD, I've never been less motivated to complete pending programs than I am right now.

Also get more legends to use, they have the extra $$ from Nintendo and Microsoft. Tired of seeing 4-5 versions of the same players, especially 2-3 99s of the same player. Like really?

I don’t think the content is all that great. They repeat the same legends over and over again. And when you consider that they have the deepest history of any sport to pull historic players from…having 5 or 6 legends per team isn’t all that great.

Gotta pay those guys. Don't have the rights to all of them.

BUT SDS can certainly be more creative with flashback cards or even specific flashback series.

Hell, what about a series based on historic debut games??? For example...

I'd have agreed in the past. But now....

Moments, Conquest, Showdown, PXP missions. Rewards - a bunch of low to mid 90s diamonds that won't ever be used except in collection(s), 1 The Show Pack, 1 BIAH pack, and 17 stubs.

That's programs done for the year.

    Ok…are the NIL that expensive?

How hard are they trying? Don’t you think some players would be willing to have their NIL used at a “discount” just to be in the game? Maybe so their kids or grandkids could see them in the game…

Pretty sure there was a historic player who tweeted about this…thanking 2K or SDS (I can’t remember what game it was) for the honor and privilege of being remembered in the game.

How is 2K able to have so many more historic players?

Does it just come down to money?

    They have cards for Bimbo Coles…Sarunas Marciulionis…PJ Brown…Nick van Exel…Tim Thomas…Randy Breuer…

Guys who were never even All Stars when they played 20-30 years ago.

OOTP has name rights to players going back how many years?

The "connective tissue" phrase really resonated with me. In the past, we had these nice, organized Collections of "Future Stars", "Signature", "Awards", etc. I could look at my "binder" and easily see where I stood. Now, everything is jammed into "Set 1", etc.

I spent a good 15 minutes last night trying to figure out if I wanted to try and get another 17 cards to finish Set 1 and grab Pedro. Then I remembered that Set 1 will "expire" in another month. So... I guess not.

Now that I'm 2 weeks into Set 2 and the TA2 grind, I'm just kind of burned out. I'm dreading season 3. Bummer.

BTW... WHERE ARE MY PROSPECT CARDS???

I will say one thing they failed to realize was what you mentioned about Pedro.

Those of us who are behind on Sets now have a reason NOT to complete them.

It can be frustrating to feel like “what’s the point”…

Which is the point some people are at right now if they are in the spot you are,
