Thoughts for SDS

After pre-ordering the Digital Deluxe Edition way back and getting the Captain's Choice pack (bunch of 92's) and 5 gold packs options I thought this is pretty solid value.
However, after following the flow and dynamics of card (mainly high diamond) acquisition this year I realized dropping an extra $30+ (you can buy some pretty good PS5 games on special for that $30+) for the presumed great players I could hang with for awhile was dumb..dumber..and dumbest on my part.
I can't even tell you for sure who my 92 Diamond Captain was because I had replaced them the first week of the season with one of the zillions of 97 cards dropping in my lap. All those cards I pulled in the gold packs I wasn't using after the 3-day early access. I pulled nothing but fodder in my 20 show packs that I may NEVER have used.
I realize there are "stories" of ppl pulling high diamonds out of those initial pre-order packs, but I'm guessing there are 4-1 odds it's gatekeepers making up these stories of diamond Trout pulls and what not.
I haven't, in all the years of purchasing the Digital Deluxe (and dunno how many that is but every year they've offered it) pulled a diamond in those packs. I'm pretty convinced that's by SDS design, but unless you TRULY pulled one yourself ya can't say I'm not right.
Anyway, getting back on point..if I do purchase this game next year..they start the marketing blab about sprinkling Diamond Dust all over everyone all season long..I would have zero incentive to purchase the Digital Deluxe again.
There are many reasons folks do purchase the higher end packages. Some simply because they prefer to have the game 3 days before everyone else. I get it, doesn't personally make it worth an extra $30 or so to me but whatever.
Just thought, if they haven't already thought about it, SDS may have done more revenue inducing harm than good by, basically, diminishing (I prefer neuter..cutting the 'nads off of) all those advertised extras in the special editions.

Early access, is worth it to many players. And it’s just money, I’m sorry if $30 is a lot of money to you.

Early Access for one, a jump start on Live Series collections... not to mention quite a few of my Gold pulls are actually Diamonds now... and once I get more Cover Athletes I will definitely have David Wright at 3B as the (Cover Athlete Captain)... I used him when I had Bryce Harper, Derek Jeter, Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm all in my lineup and yes I liked it very much.

It’s like this every year. Pee-wee Reece was sleazily even worse. 30$ to get the juice going ain’t no thang. If you grind a lot it’s not even worth it the next day. It’s just a head start in the form of 30$ in stubs, but you get a chance to get something good with the packs as well instead of just straight coins. It doesn’t need a Ted talk

Couple of you gave opinions why you like the early access. $30 isn't a lot of money for me BTW, but I'll admit I always try to get value out of what I pay for.
I know I would have never been anywhere further along right now if I had just waited and bought the game off of Amazon (walmart or whatever) a couple days after it hit the shelves. I'm fairly certain I'm not alone in those sentiments. But, again, for those that differ in opinion..good for you. I truly am happy you feel it worked out in your particular experiences.

You get 2 crappy cards every time you log in. That’s definitely worth your extra money. All jokes aside. I always buy the digital deluxe. I need the game early and I used my captain plenty. Plus, it’s just 30 bucks and it’s a game I use 365 days.

Well, since I'm a "tin foil hat" guy I really feel the need to explain to the extent it's pretty hard to deny. Not saying I succeed but it's fun trying.
Also, I'm not sure, but I bet there is a way you can just turn off all my dialogue if it disturbs you. Or, if you see one of my big 'ol testaments and want a Reader's Digest Abridged form..I'll do that for you. Just message me.

The stubs ain't bad. The 3 day early access ain't bad. It's just the fact this year they've taken most of the value out of the freebie packs. And, since I'm on a "hate the avalanche of Diamonds" crusade I though I would just mention it FTHOI.
Yeah, I'm not trying to tell anyone how to spend their money, but if you don't like all the diamonds so early (and I'm not alone) you might suggest it could play a part in deciding whether you drop $100 next year or $69. I don't think complaining works as well as absence of revenues.

I always buy the deluxe, mainly just the FOMO. I never really worried about the extra money or which cards I get, seems like we will end where we end anyways.

Yeah…don’t you know that most of the dudes who play this game read at a 2nd grade level?
That’s why they think it’s actually fun and interesting to play with teams stacked with nothing but 99s…and better.
How do you get better than a 99, you ask? Just look at how ridiculously juiced some of these top tier 99s are compared to others…and add in the parallels and occasional boosts…oh screw it…nevermind…I almost forgot who I’m talking to…most of you mouth breathers can’t add or subtract.

Early access was juiced for packs! Pulled 99 Ohtani over that ea weekend and used him until this week when I sold him to finish the LS collection.
My luck aside-it was just fun

This is the only option for sports games for me. I’d rather fire up my Sega Genesis and play Tecmo Bowl than any Madden game the last several years and basketball sucks. Don’t get me wrong, I play other games, but this isn’t a forum for other games.
