Babe Ruth

I would have expected it to be a lot worse

I already have Chipper & Pedro and really hadn't planned on trying to come up with the 60 additional cards to complete the collection and take Ruth.
I have pulled some decent cards recently in WBC Darvish & Ohtani and got Griffey from BR and hadn't planned on locking them in due to the stub amount. However, I looked last night and somehow, I only need 6 more cards to get Ruth. Now I'm debating grabbing them.

I guess if you like 60-70 ish defense in the outfield and 60 ish defense at first base
And yet SDS continues to make him the greatest defensive first basemen ever. I have never in any game he has played not turn in multiple miracle plays. Defensive ratings mean squat in this game.

I took Pedro. I’ve had the other two in years past. EVERYBODY uses the other two so I took someone different. Pedro is as advertised. He’s very good!

This is a colossal addition. He is a hitting behemoth and pretty good on defense. The best part about him is watching him run, he is a fast wabbler(if that is even a word)
He’s been there for years. Not sure what you mean by addition.

Don't like either, that's why I have him at DH,where defense doesn't matter(though they say that about first too)

People say "for the amount of stubs it costs," but if you play a lot it costs nothing. 125 x 4 will play all year long, as will Chipper. Don't know about Pedro...
-
It’s Babe Ruth. Nothing wrong with taking the greatest slugger of all time. I did it, too. People talking about Chipper is better: cool. Enjoy. But nothing wrong with Babe. At all.

Not this year, he is very goot at letting very routine grounders get past him.

Just DH Ruth if you think he is a defensive liability.
-
I took Chipper first. Close to my 2nd. Gonna go Pedro.

I simply meant he is a great addition to any lineup, I had him in years past and just never played as well with him as this year.

No one is faulting anybody for choosing Babe, but a comparison between the Chipper card and Babe’s card clearly shows that the Chipper card is the better option based on all around metrics. Again this is a personal opinion. But I want a card that not only can hit but is useful on the basepaths and on defense.

Babe is the third choice for me, but there is no wrong choice. Babe Ruth is the same card every single year. He's just not fun to use imo

I understand you now since he was basically garbage for me until last year. I use to blame his batting stance.
