The Set 1 collection doesn't expire. It would be much more of a scumbag move to make Chipper, Babe, Pedro completely unobtainable considering the wildcard exists. And we sill don't know what season 4,5,6 entail. All we know is set 1 can't be used in season 3
Also, if there is a legends and flashbacks collection(I'm not sold there will be). These cards need to stay in circulation

Pretty sure July is when Series 3 releases; so if you do see a Diamond Duo pack that has a Set 3 designation.......

Yes, season 3 starts July 7th, so the Diamond Duo packs starting then through 6 weeks-ish will be set 3. I don't even know WTF the OP is talking about. Set 1 cards aren't going anywhere, and yeah, shocker, there will be set 3 cards during season 3.

What I was referencing is that he griped about Set 1 cards not being available when Set 3 drops and proceeded to say that he better not see a Diamond Duos Pack, released on/after July 7 that has a Set 3 cars in it when he actually meant Set 1. He was so flustered that he made an error.

My only question is, besides the one wildcard spot, what becomes of the tons and tons of awesome cards I use now? Binder fodder? That’s kinda stinky if so.. all that $$

Nobody knows for sure but there are two trains of thoughts among players.

Set 1 cards become mostly obsolete for season 3 and beyond. There will be some content that is not restricted that you may be able to use them with but season content (ranked, programs, new conquests, new mini-seasons) they will not be allowed. Maybe the final program of the games cycle will allow any set to be used but not before then.

There is a group who believe that they could be reinstated in later seasons (4, 5 and 6). Maybe SDS cycles content and a later season will allow you to reuse set 1.
I fall into first category. I believe seasons 4-6 will function the exact same as season three where you can use the current set and the previous set only. Despite the fact that I have been accused of being a shill multiple times I think this is a very strategic monetization by SDS. Why limit the amount of Stubs people spend just doing the live collection when you can get them to spend even more by having the live collection and 6 separate set collections.
I probably have already spent almost as much on St Louis Cardinal Players this year as I did to get all of them last year and I still don't have them all.
