Huge Problem: Game ends on a sudden death run scoring in middle of double play
-
Bases loaded, one out, bottom of final inning, tied, tailor made DP ground ball to first, easy flip to second… then as the second baseman begins the throw to first, the game is declared over with the runner on 3rd scoring before the runner reaches first. Utter nonsense. This must be fix SDS.

Did you save a clip? That would be a heartbreaking loss

If the first out was at 1st, then the second out would not be a force and therefore if the run scored before the second out would count as a run. Was this the case?

That is correct, but the way I read it, the ground ball went to the 1B, who threw to 2B for the force, then 2B (or SS) was intending to throw to 1B for the second force. In that case, the run would not count.

I’m reading he went to 2nd first.

After a second read, I see. I'm playing a game and looking at the forum at the save time, so I missed that part!

I’d like to see a clip too. I feel like there’s something missing that explains it.

The only thing that crossed my mind is if the 1B inadvertently stepped on 1st before throwing it to 2nd

Or if there were actually zero outs. Now that I’m thinking about it though… why not throw home first?
