Pay to win? No.
A good player with a 90 (or lower) overall team will more often than not beat a bad player with an all 99 team.
Heavily Incentivized to buy stubs? Yes, in my opinion.

Not at all. I haven’t spent a dime or even flipped cards. My Ranked team is full of WBC cards from the WBC program and all none live cards were earned by playing the game only. I haven’t bought a single card on the market other than to complete some live team collections. I am 15-0 in ranked seasons.

Compared to EA, absolutely not. SDS does a much better job matching you w/ opponents at your skill level (minus events). You won't deal with it if you play casually or stick to modes like Co-Op. P2W isn't necessary to get a 99 squad in this games it just makes you get it faster.
The only time I feel overwhelmed by P2W in action is when people compete for a spot in the grand championship.

I used to play an app game (MCOC) on my android, and that game was definately "free to play - pay to win"... I refuse to waste time with those types of games again.

I don't know if people above me have actually spent a decent amount of money for stubs, but I have in the past. This year, I haven't spent anything yet. But I have noticed a difference in "luck". I've had higher velo lineouts while my opp. has more low-mid 90's HRs to the gaps in low altitude stadiums this year. I truly believe any company would elevate a player's RNG if they have spent a decent amount of real money year over year. It would make perfect business sense if they did.

I got Gagne last night and earned a 40k card.
I also got lucky the game before and got 99 Trout in the rs program for about 150,000. Getting lucky got me 150,000 coins and getting good got me 40,000 coins. It’s never been so ugly but let the zero lifetime online games played clowns tell you how wrong you are. -

Especially with how easy and obtainable ranked rewards are, you can just play ranked and you'll get WS pack. Its no different then years before, i think i made ws in season 2 last year and sold reggie jackson for like 50k. Nothings changed man, just supply and demand makes the cards in packs worth more.

Definitely not a pay to win game. This game has stubs for real money transactions... but also has a ton of free content to be earned by playing. I'm not very good at this game, but also never felt like I lost a game because my team was inferior and never spent a dime on stubs. I lose games because I swing at bad pitches mode of the time... never because I didn't spend money on stubs.

I got 50k selling dupe golds and silvers last night, is that pay to win? It's the same stub value as Gagne

Disagree. I’ve always had a team equal to my opponent and never spent a penny above purchase price. My record is reflective, when I get around to playing, to my inability to bat and my ability to pitch really well. Now I haven’t played a single game this year but that’s not because of my team. That’s because I’m in the “I’m pissed they took wind out of the game minority” and haven’t really played yet. But I have no doubt my squad is equal to anyone I’d be matched with considering who I have.

Not pay to win... but it is pay to keep up with "the jones" or pay to create content or pay because you lost to "someone that paid" and you feel you are the better player if you had the same cards you would've won.
For me personally I've seen the success players have had with No Money Spent teams and realized that although I'll spend money on the game (I haven't yet besides JRF pack) I don't need to go out and grab stubs after every drop... I know I wanted Baty and Alvarez from Future Stars pack but wasn't able to buy 150k stubs to max out and get those three packs... so instead I've just been grinding thus far and with Baty below pack price I just got him from the market and I am eying Alvarez's price because if he's less than 50k once I get 50k I'm just going to buy him outright also instead of getting the pack... plus these packs will most likely be in reward paths and conquest map hidden rewards as well as other places sooner rather than later as well.

Yep... I used a two accounts back in the 2016 or 2017 game. My NMS all gold team did better than my money team of diamonds, and was just one win short of making the WS. Not sure why, but I probably just focused more with my NMS team due to usually having lesser cards than my opponent.
