It feels to me like home runs are down from last year, which I like. But if you look at the stats and game logs of the top ranked players, almost every run comes on a home run. Personally I prefer to see home runs to be somewhat of a rarity and offense relying on getting guys on base. The game still feels like a home run derby where the winner is the one who just happens to get under it a couple more times. Am I the only one?

This is just an estimation but I d say homers are about 25% of my hits and about 33-40% of my runs.

I feel HR are down and that is good. Most of the games Ranked players have played on were veteran and All Star. Hall of Fame and Legend doesnt have too many players yet. So yes, hitting is going to seem inflated.

My bronze Carlos Santana says different, home runs are about the same place as the past IMO. I am enjoying some of the changes to fielding though, the changes to button accuracy throws being one of them.

I don't play RS or BR, only against the AI, but compared to the last few years, my power numbers are definitely down it seems, but my run production seems up. Balls that feel like homers in previous years die deep, whereas bloops and shots to the gap that the CPU would previously run down can't always get to them like they could. I like that trade off.

First off, don't look at game logs of the top players to determine the mean results. Just as you would remove the bottom portion of players that are likely AFK 99% of the account playtime.

Top players always hit more HR. Been that way since online play was introduced when the product launched in 2012 (I think).

I've only played vs the CPU currently, but HR are down there for sure. Noticably so that it's refreshing. This isn't a problem for me. If I wanted an arcade game, I'd play Mario Sluggers.

My advice is to worry less about the results of others and focus on your enjoyment or disappointment of the game.

My opinion the game is playing extremely well except for a bit too many P/P warning track and deep fly outs. That should scale up a bit eventually.

Stopped reading when you said you are looking at top players stats. They’re top players for a reason. If we change things because of their stats, then they are isolating 99% of the population that play this game and then we have a snooze fest pitchers duel every game.

This game has by far the best hitting and most accurate representation of the PCI that I’ve seen with The Show. I also love that they actually made ball physics exist and you have doubles in the gaps that don’t bounce 15 feet in the air for ground rule doubles.

This is exactly what I'm seeing - I'm very happy with the gameplay so far, both online and off. And yes, I'm hitting fewer HR's, but much more fun this way. Funner? No... more fun.

Also dont forget most of the top players have purchased all the cards they can so they have super squads...AND they had to play on Vet for the first 5-10 games on RS. I think hitting is better, more consistent than last year.

Top players hit WAY more homers than the average player, I wouldn’t take that into consideration. Last year I got matched up with Pitching Rebel and he mercy ruled me and every hit was a homerun…That’s literally the only time I got just destroyed all year. So far homers feel down to me and contact hitting is playing great. I’m happy with the state of gameplay right now.
