Should there be more divisons in RS?

Rookie and Veteran should be All Star difficultly. Everything else should be HOF, and make the top 100 or 200 players play on Legend.
So in other words only the "elite" should be allowed in RS?
Why would I buy a game where I need to compete in levels significantly over my ability in order to acquire players for collections that I will never be able to get?

Ranked Seasons is the highest skilled game mode. It needs to be treated as such. If you cant learn HOF then don't play Ranked. Go play events.
For years I've completed pretty much every collection, and have obtained nearly every card In the game without making World Series or even touching Ranked.

Dont now if this has any bearing on your question. But I think once you hit a certain level; you can no longer drop to the level below UNTIL the new season starts.
This can possibly help people from tanking just to play at a lower level.
That's also a bad idea. Many people grind to 900 just to make WS for the rewards, but have no intention of playing on Legend. If you wanna tank, you should be free to do so.
Once you hit WS and get the rewards is there any other reason to play?
For the innings to get the other WS reward and other than that bragging rights to see if you can get in the top ten/fifty/hundred or whatever.

Imo it should be 0-500 Allstar 500-1000 HOF, 1000+ Legend. WS still at 900. The window where the game is played on HOF is far too small as it is, and over half of the players that make world series quit RS for the month after doing so because legend is only really meant for the true goons

Except ranked is also the only rewarded mode where you can use whatever team you like online, you know the whole point of building a team

Leaving the only online mode with rewards using your whole team gatekeeped to HOF isn't good for the user base or SDS. Ranked season is the main reason people buy cards and buy stubs

Yes? Most upper tier level people make WS in a few days after the new season start. But not everyone wants to play on Legend for the rest of the season. That's why I said I think your idea isn't good. People should be able to tank if that's what they want to do. I certainly don't mind running into people who are tanking. Free Ws. I'll take those.

No, there are too many divisions now. I would rather have no divisions in RS. The gameplay varies too much within the divisions and the various pitch speeds make pitch recognition and timing more difficult than it needs to be.

So same pitch speeds for every division? I like that. Sounds like 17 to me

I do not think that is a good idea.
- All-Star is too hard for newcomers or low-skilled-players. They should have fun too
- The top players should have something to grind for too. What goal should they have? Play against themselves? I like the idea of lower-skilled-players battle them (and maybe beat them on the higher-levels under legend)
The top players play for a top spot on the leaderboards. Making top 50 also nets them a special icon. They don't care about any other rewards, they just wanna compete against each other. Has always been that way, will always be that way.
Nope. I follow a lot of them on twitch/yt. They tell something different … Are you a top player?
I would like to play them, therefore I would not lock them out from „the mediocre guys“.
I had AlexGAKill against me in ranked. It was a lot of fun playing him (he declined my friendly and offered me one after the 5th inning with a 0-0 score :).
It is okay for me having them at World Series Level playing against themselves … but they gotta earn it and one day I will beat one of them

I started in 21… Mid summer, I managed to climb up to 600. Wouldn‘t have been possible if they forced me in HoF. After that I climbed to 700 up to 895. The steady increase in difficulty had me engaged and motivated.
I would give everybody the chance of either climbing up or staying in lower ranked on lower difficulties playing beginners. No other mode can offer a real game with 9 innings like that right now

I was a top player who made top 50 multiple years in a row, yes. Not that I see how it's related, but since you asked. And a lot of people I associated with who were also in those regions, they really don't care.

Guessing and knowing is something different, therefore I asked. But I know for sure, at least some of them care (and it is reasonable)

I probably didn't help matters by wording this like I did. Would it change people's opinion if I meant that every level saw a slight increase in pitch speed/movement?
I just can't handle the big jump from veteran to all star. Had that happen when I tried 21, got a couple of wins, then had several disconnects and rage quits, so I moved into all star when I was really playing like a low 300 player.
While I have improved a bit, and can sometimes play on all star, I am nowhere near regular play there. I skipped 22 and only watching 23 since I cannot complete 21 because all the programs were locked out after 22 launched. However, 20 still has everything open so I am playing on that and having a fair amount of fun despite not a lot of online activity.

@raesONE-_PSN said in Should there be more divisons in RS?:
In my opinion, no. It's already hard enough to bounce around between All-Star, HOF and Legend with the different parameters, adding more to that would make it even harder to get consistent at one particular level.
i agree completely yes - keep it simple

What they should do, in my humblest opinion as always of course, is get rid of different pitch speeds per difficulty tier and adopt a universal pitch speed across all the levels of difficulty. My suggestion would be pitch speeds somewhere in between All-Star and HOF, BUT and this is a very big but, the PCI and area of contact should shrink considerably based on the level of difficulty you play at. That way everyone can get used to pitch speeds regardless of what level one plays at, and the higher tiers will be dictated by stick skills because you'll need to be accurate more than anything. That has been my suggestion since 2018.
Edit: it also won't scare players as much to move up in tiers and try themselves at HOF or even Legend. The thought of playing there is often intimidating for many because they feel like they can't catch up to the fast stuff. This way, you don't have to worry about that. Gotta worry more about PCI placement.

Deja Vu buddy. I recall 16 and 17 being just that. 18 seemed very slow pitch speeds to me. You are right though and I agree. PCI size would be based on your level and decrease in size as you move up.
