Xbox series X!

I’ve never played on an Xbox so I can’t give you a suggestion based on gameplay. Since this is the only game you play, you may want to take into consideration that this is a Sony game.

That means absolutely nothing. Remember when we all found out that Xbox players were playing at 120hz, and ps5 players werent? The game is also basically free on gamepass.
I would go Xbox. If you would have told me that Xbox was going to buy Bethesda and that there would be only like 10 actual ps5 games over 2 years after release I wouldn't have bought a ps5. Right now the ps5 feels like a ps4 pro².

I think X is newer, my only concern is, is it worth it to shell out the extra couple hundred when I really play one or two games.

The Xbox S is easy to get, they even have it at Costco. I’ve only seen the X sold through their credit bundle.

Depends on the screen you are playing on. If you are playing on a 1080P monitor the S is fine. If you have a 4K 120 Hz tv or monitor go Series X.

Maybe not, but if he wants to play versions before cross-play was introduced, he can't if he gets an Xbox.

Moving places and the PS5 is staying with my brothers. I'm looking for a next gen console for MLB 23, am I better of getting a PS5, XBOX X, or XBOX S. This is really the only video game I play so storage is not a huge factor for me.
A lot of „pro players“ switched to the Xbox Series X, saying the gameplay is smoother and timing windows are more realistic.
Personally I would not go to the Series S, because I think: The better the hardware, the better the game
-
Series S if you want to save money and lack a 4K 120hz TV or Monitor. Series X if the extra $200 is no big deal and you do own a 4K 120hz TV or Monitor. They are both great consoles. This is coming from a guy that has been a Sony "loyalist" until recently.
-
Series X is the go to. Series S is the stripped down version to get it to 300$

If this is only game you play,, get the Xbox. Its a free game on the Xbox with Gamepass

I dont understand the "free on game pass" argument? Unless I am wrong; dont you need to have Xbox Live AND Game Pass to be able to play this game online? And if so, how is that better than paying for game itself?
From my research it looks like Xbox Live is about $10 a month or $60 a year and Game Pass is also $10 a month. So with Game Pass you're paying $120 to place the standard version of The Show, which would cost you half that if you just bought the game fir $60.
Now, if you get Game Pass Ultimate, which is $14.99, it looks like it includes XBox Live (am i correct?) but that will still cost you more than buying the game; even if you would but the Digital Deluxe which gives you early access. Game Pass doesnt.
Am I wrong?

I don't have an Xbox, but I would assume that most people already have/pay for the Game Pass, so the Show is basically free for them.

i understand that. But most of them play other games available on Gamepass. The OP stated that he only plays The Show.
I just cant see paying for a monthly service that may cost more than the actual game itself. I dont even pay for best PS+ membership. I get the base one.
I was in the same boat as the OP. I'm finally going next gen and was going to see about switching from PS to Xbox. But since I just upped my PS+ and want to try that new KOTOR game when it finally comes out (pretty sure it will be PS exclusive) I'm just going with a PS5.
