RHP - 125
LHP - 79Because he sees the ball better and makes better contact vs right hand pitchers. When he āsquares it upā vs lefties he hits it just as hard. He just squares it up less.

Hitters will hit differently against left or right-handed pitchers. Some have more power against the same or opposite side because the angle the ball comes in at. It is a real thing and belongs in the game.
The angle the ball comes in affects the way they see it, and the quality of contact. It doesnāt reduce their power
-
All #s courtesy Statcast:
Barrel %: 20.1
vs. RHP: 22.3
vs. LHP: 15.6Rationalize it any way you want, but he doesn't hit it as hard as often when he's facing southpaws.
-
I wish that gamers who put these kinds of topics on the board would read about hitting first. Or, if they don't like to read, at the very least go out and hit against live pitchers.

Now weāre speaking my language. Hitting live pitching in a competitive setting is not unfamiliar to me.

This thread right here is a perfect example of what has impressed me so much about the quality of the conversation on this site. Iām not being sarcastic at all, rather I could not be any more sincere! The OP decided to post a comment regarding a subject that he obviously believed to be a nonsensical aspect of the game, relying on logic to back up his argumentā¦and, the way he has it constructed in his mind, heās got it 100 percent correct. However, logic and baseball arenāt always the best of bedfellowsā¦which is a fact well known to anyone who has spent their youth playing the sport and not the video game; the OP āoutedā themselves in a conversation board about baseball as someone who has clearly never played the sport. Not ONE PERSON was disrespectful, rude, or condescending to this young feller! Instead I got to see you guys take the time to try and explain it and make it a learning experience - not only for the OP, but for anyone else who should ever wonder the same thing and end up directed to this threadā¦perhaps even decades from now? I want to say ākudos to yaāllā for this. THIS is the true spirit behind why forums such as this one ever came into existence. Had that kid posted his comments to, say, Reddit perhaps, the outcome wouldāve been far, FAR uglier and the OP wouldāve carried the scar with him for a while and may have even started second guessing themselves before speaking up later down the road. Wouldnāt yāall agree? I HATE reading how ugly people choose to be to their fellow man (human being) typically online. Iāve never been able to truly understand it, either.
I know that Iām one of very many online who spent time on this rock both before and after computers became a part of our daily lives, and it sure gives one a bit of a unique perspective on such thingsā¦but what Iāve noticed that has remained the same is that Iāve personally never, not even one time, been spoken to in a condescending and rude manner, yet I rarely can go three posts on a website without being either infuriated or frustrated to the point of exasperationā¦and one only need to read the comments on any news story these days and youāll see people trading messages back and forth with each other for days about the most frivolous thingsā¦and rarely ever will you come across intelligent discussion on the actual subject of the article! Haha! Iām sure this happens here too, but what Iām saying is that, so far, Iāve seen the opposite of what me the status quo here at this site. It has been my experience in life that the vast majority of adults are, almost without exception, nearly ALWAYS cordial and decent in their interactions with their peers, and even more so when it comes to encounters with someone theyāve not met beforeā¦which is just about ALL people that one speaks with online! My guess is that Iāll never understand why itās typically so vastly different online - but I have a suspicion that the solution to it isā¦ā¦.BASEBALL! Yes! Itās a proven fact that baseball fans are more intelligent than any other demographic. OK, I admit the previous sentence was a complete fabrication, devoid of ANY proof (that Iām aware ofā¦and I aināt looking to find out, either), but it remains my opinion!
I continue to be impressed by the quality of conversation here. Baseball is just awesome. Video games are awesome. We have us a baseball video game that, for the most part anyways, is incredibly fun to play, isnāt trying to brainwash us with radical political views, isnāt trying to make anyone feel left out (except you, Mackey Sasser, but maybe one day theyāll add you), and has given us baseball fans a great way to better enjoy the game as a whole. Seriously, how great is that!?
I tip my cap to you all. A class act and very encouraging.

Hence why we have those ratings... to simulate a similar performance... which is primarily for simulation purposes as user input holds a lot of weight otherwise these types of games would suck if the ratings 100% drove the outcome.

I get what youāre saying, but thereās a caveat. I clearly stated Iāve faced pitching in a competitive setting. I played for thee Jackie Robinson West little league team. I played baseball in high school, and at Chicago State University. Also, I am not that young.

Then I would like to apologize for my error(s) and also if my post came across as offensive in any way; it wasnāt my intention at all and what I should have done was re-read what you wrote before making my post, but instead I read all of the replies, went to the grocery store, came back still thinking about how much Iād been enjoying my time on this forum, and THEN wrote my bit. I assure you I have no desire to offend, but rather to point out the good qualities in things, which I personally believe we could all benefit with a little more of. Again I apologize for anything I wrote that misrepresented you.

No worries. It was an honest mistake.
