I don't think he was implying they should stop creating the game for XB1 or PS4, rather create a new code branch which enhances game play and takes advantage of the next gen platform.

That’s what we have now. He’s specifically asking for a ground-up rebuild. The game would certainly benefit from that, but as previous poster pointed out, the last-gen user base is still too big to cut them off.

PS3 didn’t get cut off from The Show lineup until 2017, after PS3 stopped shipping in NA. PS4 units are still shipping so I don’t expect that day to come for at least a few more years.

I think they should have a new code base for Next Gen as well, taking advantage of the new hardware. But they could still maintain the old code base for legacy generation systems, offering slight updates over prior year. The toughest part would be crossplay. In this scenario new gen would only be able to play new gen and legacy gen vs legacy gen.

I wouldn't count on a fully next-gen game until consumers can walk into a Best Buy and buy a PS5 on a whim. Back in January and February, I followed a few twitter accounts and downloaded the Hot Stock app and registered for some sort of lottery system on the Playstation site. Never ended up getting one. I'm pretty tech savvy and it was still too much of a hassle for me. Until Mommy Q Cashalot can just go to Amazon and buy her kiddos a next gen system, we are stuck with what we've got.

I don't think he was implying they should stop creating the game for XB1 or PS4, rather create a new code branch which enhances game play and takes advantage of the next gen platform. There are plenty of us that have next gen systems and would love to see this game taken to the next level.

I don't know a ton about games and what goes on under the hood. Wouldn't that essentially require them to write two completely different games? Their time and resources are already stretched pretty thin with the addition of XBox and Switch. If they are basically writing 5 different versions of the game, I think some major mistakes are going to start to crop up.

For a true rebuild, yes. They would have to maintain several different codebases. But they need to keep their Next Gen customers happy, offering them a legacy gen experience on a next gen system won't fly for much longer.

And just where are they going to get the staff to do that? They're stretched enough as it is and resources aren't infinite.

I'm not saying a top-down redesign wouldn't be desirable: just that it's impractical for at least a few more years.

theyd essentially use the same code for old gen games, while jump focus to nhe next gen games.

I don't know much about the studio that makes 2K, but EA and SDS aren't comparable in size and resources. Not only that, but people seem to hate Madden more and more every year. I've never played the game but even I have read about massive gameplay bugs this year. If a studio with the financial and manpower resources of EA can't do it effectively, then there's little reason to believe that a small company like SDS can do it effectively.

i dont care if it doesnt work, its the fact we're getting zero attempt, its just copy paste every year, you've never played a game of madden is by far more rewarding, and if you are better then someone it shows, scheming and design, this game clearly takes a tremendous amount of skill but it clealry has its flaws like every game. I just want a smoother cleaner game, where timing windows are fluid again.

Key word in bold. and agree because there was a time when timing windows were good or fluid as you call them.

I hope in 2023 they add new players to the final program. I don't even care if they are popular players but a few cards instead of just a "catch-up" program at the end.

If they can actually make a game where user inputs, user skills, actually matters for pitching, hitting and fielding it would be a great start. It actually doesn't matter that much in this game. SDS should make the core, the base, the foundation of this game (which is the gameplay) be at the center of their working time for '23. If they come up with a game where what we do has an impact on the end result after 9 innings, the rest could be the exact same to this year and it would be a 1000 times better. There are great ideas in MLBTS I think such as Mini-Seasons, Conquest, Ranked... the different modes are not bad at all in my opinion (even if Mini-season needs some work), the cards collection and what goes around it is good, stadiums are well rendered, players are fine... but since the base of it all (the gameplay) is not on par, all of this doesn't really matter... Too many times do we actually do everything right but the game would not give anything to show and instead you get the kiddo at the other end doing buntcrap or anything along those lines getting hits, RBIs and Ws... And games against CPU, lol, if you play this game enough you can clearly see some patterns during a game and you know where this is going... so yeah, gameplay needs to be fixed first and foremost... once they have done that they could go and do other things... Putting a coat of paint on an unfinished wall in a house built on mud doesn't make the house good... 😅😜

One thing I'd love, and I'm sure it's not high on the list at SDS... I would love to see my players' stats somehow tied into the App or the online Market. Or, give me a way to export them into Excel.

    C'mon @Blind_Bleeder , @SaveFarris_PSN .... I know you'd agree with this one.

R2 - ensure it does not impact the pitcher what so ever. No need for it.

Actually ensure the PCI placement impacts the shot. Off PCI HRs are frankly nonsense. I dont mind the off PCI bloops, cos that happens, but no for HRs

Take away the superman fielding diving animations unless they've got a perk for it.

That would be awesome. Gamer stats are on the server, so a breakdown by cards should be possible,

What I’d like even more, though, is a weblink to download owned cards into .csv file. A file that has the same information that the inventory webpage has.

Maybe even combine the two items. Download our owned cards with our stats and the data that’s on the inventory page.

Haven't posted in awhile but i have some thoughts on a wish list for 23.

    1. Add a playoff mode for online DD, take your DD team into a playoff format where it takes X amount of wins before losses each round to advance.

    2. night games online in created stadiums, this was advertised but only works for offline.

    3. add a h2h playlist and a competitive playlist, h2h you can ear rewards, competitive helps you earn the rewards faster but you're playing on a higher difficulty, to where regular h2h can be a universal pitch speed ( will benefit comp players and casual players)

    4. pause timer, it is awful the way its abused

    5. a next gen version. Its time to make a next gen version exclusive to next gen consoles, were at that point where the game needs an update to run better, playing a ps4 game on a ps5 is not why we got next gen consoles.

that is all, correa please stay a Twin

#5 is hilarious. It would be great if they did, but it makes NO financial sense. Games will continue to be "cross-gen" throughout the lifecycles of ps5/series x. Because $.

games are not going to be cross gen with old gen much longer, you can still make a version for old gen, but a next gen thats more polished and fine with what the next gen system is capable of? 100 percent, its a matter of time, Madden and 2k are already there.

Start reward path where you are at instead of starting over. Highlight cards better so you can actually see who you are taking. Start where you left off when selling cards instead of going back to top. Stop resetting pause timer and limit to 3 pauses max. Eliminate r2
