Same reason Wagner climbed so high even before the Takashi collection was announced. Everyone took Chipper from that program

Not true, I took Wagner. Chipper was the card I wanted least, though I am not saying the card isn’t a good card. Wagner is just always the best LH reliever. Plus I thought they would make a better Gehrig than that. He’s usually my go to lefty 1B. I agree that most people took Chipper though.

Based on the low number of prime cards you night need all but one or two to get the voucher for the big collection. So program bosses are all going through the roof because you can't obtain them anymore.

I took Chipper, but wisely bought Wagner not long after, dirt cheap at around 160K!

I took Wagner too tbh. But you can tell just by price that most took Chipper. Awards is in a very similar situation to Prime and Takashi collection wise and Chippers price is 1/2 of Gehrig and 1/4 of Wagners

Definitely a wise choice. I still think Wagner is the best LH reliever in the game, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the Chapman card had better control than he has in earlier years. If only I thought about this then I would have bought an extra.

True. Plus Chipper is usually one of the most popular cards in the game. But that is definitely a good observation.

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't realize there was a new collection program coming out tomorrow. That explains it. Do people think we're going to need ALL the Prime cards or just most of them?

I would say that since the Prime collection is smaller than most of the other card series, you will probably need all of them with the exception of one or two. There hasn't been many additions to the Prime series since the last big collection.

The one I am curious about is Retro Finest. You only needed I think 25 cards to get the voucher for Rollins, but they have released a TON of Retro cards since then. I believe there are currently over 100 available.

There are only 30 Prime cards, and the Rollins collection voucher was for 27 of them. There's no guarantee how many we'll need obviously, but it's pretty safe to bet we'll need all but 1 or 2.

Well, I managed to get through Prime with 2 cards to spare. I have Walker, but not Gehrig, and didn't need either to complete. Had to buy one Prospect, but other than collecting Feller in the Milestone series, I'm good to grab Mantle -- and that's without the ludicrously priced Takashi series. Not playing that game.
